Can we get a Self-Help Guide on 7cups about Self-Worth/ Self-Esteem/ Self-Confidence?
Can we get a 7cups self-help guide about one's self-worth/ self-esteem/ self-confidence? What it is, why it's important, how do we lose it, how do we boost it, and most importantly, how do we consistently maintain self-esteem? A few other questions the guide could cover might be, "how do we make sure we have an accurate idea of who we are?" and, "how do we make sure we have a realistic idea of our strengths and weaknesses?" Common objections to valuing oneself and counter-arguments could be included, as well. If a person has experienced abuse, they might struggle with self-esteem. It might be useful to include how a person can protect themselves from people who would seek to tear apart them and their self-esteem; though the topic of abuse alone could warrant another self-help guide in and of itself. Body-image could be included within a self-esteem self-help guide or extended to be an entire self-help guide of its own, as well.
7cups has some really great self-help guides. I think being able to place value on oneself allows for that motivation to start improving other areas of one's life. If you and what you want in life isn't important to you, you probably wouldn't want to put forth the effort to try and tackle something as difficult as boundaries or battling against symptoms of a mental health disorder. Therefore, I would argue it's important that developing the ability to value oneself come first before the other self-help topics may begin to be considered and their lessons consistenly applied. This is why I think self-esteem is a worthy topic to include as part of the self-help guides here on 7cups.
I hope these ideas will be considered and, hopefully, implemented.
that would be a grate ida
I have done some reading on self-esteem and self-compassion. Our self-esteem takes hits and abandons us in hard times, whereas self-compassion is there for precisely when we take those hard hits to our self-concept. Self-compassion is useful whenever we experience something physically painful, emotionally painful or challenging in life. Its usefulness in responding to our moments of vulnerable weakness, pain, and suffering make it well worth including in the Self-Help topic I suggested above.
