Some Issues In Group Support Chat
Hello ! I just wanted to describe few situations which are really tough for a member in Group Support Chats!
1. Members who keep coming back :
In some groups like Compassion corner , Member Hangout some members keep coming back with the newbie id and abuses ( in MH they Abuse in Non-english too ) randomly .However we can use emergency mod form and also I am glad that we get some dedicated Community Mods to deal with those situations , but somewhere those newbie members pretend when a mod comes and they start again when they leave ! So i really wish to see a permanent solution for those people who keep coming back again and again ! And we feel extremely unsafe when we talk with newbies who actually know everyone ! Only a regular member can understand this :(
[ May be talking with them and to explain how much their behavior can affect another member emotionally in a group ? ]
2. Unprofessional listeners in group chats :
I know listeners are volunteers here still we expect little more professionalism from them as to a member the listeners represent this community and when we directly interact them in group chat like Member Hangout I feel somewhere they come there just to talk about their life and to have fun in there and to talk with known listeners and members ! I know that is a light hearted space but some listeners behaves like a member also which is so confusing for any member ! And those acts of them make it so exclusive , specially I feel that as a member !
3. Non - English in Member Hangouts :
I know it is very practical that it is impossible to get Mods all the time in Member Hangouts but if our regular listeners could help it to stop using English then that could be helpful too however they always speak in Hindi , Urdu all the time in M.H
Also I want tell there are some so supportive groups in here like Healthy living , Relationship support ! To me Healthy living is an example of an ideal group
we members also help each other in there !
Thank you for reading this ! I love this community , I know you value the feedbacks coming from everyone! And I am sure you will think bout it . As a whole it will be good for group support section if these problems can be fixed ! Thank you

Hello! I will be the first to admit I'm not super familiar with group support, but will do my best to address the concerns.
For repeat members, it is best to use the emergency moderation form. There's a potential they are circumventing a mute, and in the event that they just keep causing problems, it's best to get a mod in the room to help calm things down.
For unprofessional listeners, there is a form to report them. If you can provide screenshots of the behavior that is generally the most helpful. Those can either be included in the form if you have a link (such as gyazo) or emailed to community@7cups.com
Regarding those not speaking english in the chatrooms, you have a few options again such as the mod form and reporting. @Ele made a great suggestion about how you as a member (or listener, if you have a listener account and venture in the chatrooms from there) can contribute to the atmosphere of the room. As a precaution though I would urge not to engage in conflict at any point. Polite suggestions, trying to change the topic, etc, are all good, but if it comes to blows utilize that personal mute and use the emergency mod form.
As our paid moderation team rolls out, I hope some of these issues will be mitigated. if you're ever interested in learning about the conflict resolution strategies for a particular room, don't be afraid to hop into the pms of the STL(s) of the room you're interested in. I hope that helps!
good response! and i fully agree, the less conflict the better! but, it doesnt hurt to politely suggest/ask to continue the chat in english (if comfortable doing so). thank you for sharing your insight on this! @MonBon
