Why are 2 minutes so important?
At 7 Cups we believe that in this world of 7bn people, no one should feel alone. This means our mission is to grab and hug everyone who is feeling lonely, immediately. :)
Just looking at the GR bar, we know there are so many people hurting every single moment. They are all in an uncomfortable and undesirable situation. When someone is in pain, every minute seems like an hour. Our role as 7 Cups listeners is to reach people as soon as possible.Waiting increases uncertainty which further increases agony. In this pursuit, lets join hands to not let the wait time go over 2mins. I dream of the time when our tagline is "On 7 Cups, no one waits more than 2mins!"

At the same time, lets not forget self care. The idea is that if we are around in the forums, or group chatrooms, or just looking at the feed, and have no set agenda for our time on 7 Cups, we hop in and grab some generals. Good help also means quick help. Lets pitch in :)
2 minutes. 2 minutes could be the difference between life and death. 2 minutes can change a whole day by 1 thought. 2 minutes from a stranger can unknowingly help a depressed individual smile. 2 minutes of a hug can show the lonely soul that people do care. 2 minutes of a phone call can lift someone's confidence within themselves. 2 minutes witnessing life could enlighten someone to create beautiful artwork, poetry. 2 minutes can inspire the young teen to stand up to that bully. 2 minutes could invoke such hope in the hopeless. 2 minutes can spark dreams and career goals. 2 minutes of listening can open the mind soul and heart to things unfelt. 2 minutes to check in on someone can make that difference. 2 minutes can be the last moments lived after reading a hurtful message if no one intervened. 2 minutes is all it takes for someone to randomly get beaten, robbed raped murdered if no one stepped up beforehand. 2 minutes is all it takes for the person looking in the mirror to feel so ugly enough to puke or starve if no one tried to talk to them sooner about what they see. 2 minutes is all it takes for the eating disorder victim to collapse from over exertion or malnutrition because no one interviened in the beginning. 2 minutes can be the matter of taking a deep breath and stepping back from it all to see the bigger picture. 2 minutes can create and destroy. 120 seconds can be the final goodbye or the first hello.
120 seconds..2 minutes...can change a lifetime.

2 minutes can change a life indeed. A panic attack can be slowed down and more manageable in 2 minutes. Life can look a drop brighter in 2 minutes. Let's all take 2 minutes to help someone today!
oh and 2 minutes os very important. My listener when I was depressed yesterday helped me cheer up in 2 minutes 😊

I think that this also has to be balanced with response time. Many listeners who take on too many chats have slower response times in the conversations they are having.
@DeniseB that's true, it's important to reply quickly so people know they're being cared about.
2 minutes? LOL.
I have been waiting for an average time of 12 minutes to get connected with a Listener. It's really terrible!
And when I message offline Listeners they usually do not get back to me. It's really frustrating. 2 minutes is such a high standard when good Listeners prefer to stay in the chatrooms instead of grabbing GRs.

Love helping people. I forget to take care of myself, sometimes I would rather care for them than stay hydrated, happy, and healthy. This is probably bad.

Too bad a lot of people sometimes wait more than 2 minutes. Something has to be done about this!
