Hey there. :)
I believe the error code 205 occurs when the connection between you and a listener has been blocked so messages can't be sent. Sorry this happened to you though. :)
I have been talking to someone too...and she just blocked me off today. I feel so devastated ..I feel like I am not even worth listening ....now I feel why did I even come here to talk about my problems. I feel judged....horrible feeling...
@nancy0045
i get blocked by crisischat every few months for claiming to be disabled and wasting their time askign for help....you know standup morals
(Edited by @River to remove part that might come off as unsupportive)
@nancy0045 I thought like it too Nancy just a horrible feeling but don't worry everything will be alright , the person blocking just want to avoid something they don't want to hear it seems, don't worry too much about it dear!!! May God be with you
Code 205, I don't think it means you have been blocked. When you have been blocked you get a message that this conversation has been blocked and you can't message the listener again if you try it. Sometimes it happens through a glitch and if you retry you can get to thelistener but sometimes you have been really blocked. I think Code 205 is an HTTP requeststatus code that shows how a request has been processed, if my assumption is correct that messagemeans that, theserver successfully processed the request (chat message you posted), but is not returning any content (there is an error/issue/faultduring the chat exchange). I suggest when that happens that you try to refresh your page and see if you can get to the listener again.
This is the message -This personal request has been blocked. (Code 205)
I see, if you get that in a personal request from that listener then yes it means that you have been blocked I guess. I would like to encourage you to try another listener :)
When people block, is it always on purpose? can they unblock? because when it's forno reason, it is depressing along with all the other upsetting experiences you are probably going tohave with listeners
I betthey wouldn'tlike being blocked when generally speaking when they are at their lowest, so Iwonder if they all mean to
Hey lemons, listeners can't reallyublocksomeone on their own. We personally do not have an unblock button as of now. I want to hope those who block people have a legit reason on why they do so. Usually before blocking a box pops up asking for the reason why they are blocking this member/listener. If you have a concern or even better an idea on how to improve that feature feel free to post it through this form.
So it is always on purpose because they also have something that asks them why before they block you too? worse than I thought
There is a pop up box that appears and asks you to fill in the reason why you are blocking this listener, guestor member but that is optional so I can't know if everyone fills it in. Sadly, sometimes it happens that people do not use the feature properly, but there are good listeners too so don't feel discouraged please. @lemons
Thanks Flourish...I don't think I have the courage to open to anyone else again now...this is the most depressed i have been in my life....and this experience was even more depressing...Guess it's time to delete the account .
You are welcome Nancy. If you ever feel you can give it a shot again, do not hesitate. I am sorry you had such experience and I hope if you try it again that it turns out better.
I am really sorry you feel like this but I urge you not to delete your account over this as mistakes and misinterpretations are really easy to make when speaking online (you are not the first member to have been blocked without a obvious reason).I was previously trying to make it so that listeners had to give a clear reason for blocking that the members could see.But unfortunately that has not happened, so in the mean time I really think it's might be worth treating it as a one off and trying a few listeners until you find one you can connect with.I appreciate that this is really hard but mistakes do happen and most of us really do want to listen to you :)
Hey, Nancy, I do hope you give some other listeners a try. There are many who care to hear you.
@Flourish
I got a message: This user is unavailable to chat with you, please select another. (Code 205)
Could anyone tell me if that means I've been blocked?
The last thing I said was that English is not my first language.
I can't imagine why someone would block me cause of that.
@JJ0000 - I suggest you try again. I do not think it is blocking but I cannot guarantee that.
From a previous response of Laura I found this:
"
It could be one of the following:
- Listener blocked you
- Listener has deactivated their acct (self-care break)
- Listener has been asked to leave the listener community
"
There is a thread in the listener section posted by Glen which details the reasons why it might occasionally be necessary to ban a member (this is not the same as blocking but has similar guidelines.)These are the only 2 situations.
1. They are behaving in a sexual manner toward you. Please note that this is different from asking for help with a sexual addiction or other issue.
2. They are swearing at you or being very mean to you. Please note that this is different from them being grumpy or rude. Many people going through a hard time can come off as grumpy, because they are really struggling.
Hope this helped.
Just to add to that we now have a new system for personal blocking. The reasons we can block a member as listeners are
1.Stalking
2.Triggering chats (a listeners really should explain if this is a issue and help you to find a someone who can help you better).
3.Overly dependent (This may be if you persistently push boundaries rather than just being in need of additional support eg.Keep not leaving after a listener says they need to go and attempt manipulation in a chat format 'please don't leave or I will .....' Type of thing.
4.Other (This might be for pushing individual listener boundaries eg.A listener asks you at the start of the conversation to please not use swear words and you keep doing so).
I got blocked just now. I'm not worried about it if it was just that. I may have been rambling anyway, or my story wasn't interesting enough, or it was upsetting, or whatever. The thing is: being kind of new to this service, it was alarming and i was concerned i may have done something wrong.
This website is great
Hi, I'm curious. So code 205 is in fact a personal block? Or could it be connection as well? I'm trying to send an offline message to the person I was cut off with and it keeps giving me the code 205.I don't believe I deserved to be blocked, and it is quite devastating when I wasreally looking forward to hearing what they had to say and they just give up without giving me a chance. I think if there is a block button, they MUST give a reason and can't block without one. Frankly I'm not okay with this. This discourages me from trying other listeners because I'm having to practically repeat myself. I just want to be heard, not shut down. I want to know why this user blocked me so soon. She seemed so sweet and then boom, cut off. I hardly got my words in.
Hi @marlasinger, as I said earlier....Code 205, I don't think it means you have been blocked. When you have been blocked you get a message that this conversation has been blocked and you can't message the listener again if you try it. Sometimes it happens through a glitch and if you retry you can get to thelistener but sometimes you have been really blocked. I thinkCode 205is an HTTP requeststatus codethat shows how a request has been processed, if my assumption is correct that messagemeans that, theserver successfully processed the request (chat message you posted), but is not returning any content (there is an error/issue/faultduring the chat exchange). I suggest when that happens that you try to refresh your page and see if you can get to the listener again. If you can get back to the listener that means you aren't blocked.
Miracle,
I had to block a listener after they propositioned me very vulgar. I had to block another listener because they advised me to use violence to solve my problem. Wasn't easy to figure out how to block.
Blocking a listener is slightly different to listeners blocking members @mutter3I would say personally that members who feel uncomfortable in any way speaking to a listener should explain why and then block.I am sorry you have had such negative experiences.
You should report theese liseners mutter as they need to be serverely reprimanded and i hope you have better expiriances from here on out ![]()
I was talking to a listener [Mentioning listener's name - removed by Forum Moderator] for a couple of days, we messaged each other yesterday, but later that night I checked my conversations bar and all the messages were deleted. Even the ones sent to my emails. I tried searching that listener but couldn't find anything. Thats so strange I don't even know what happened, as I'm new to this site. Any help will be appreciated.
It is very likely that the listener has left the site for whatever reason, they may reactivate the account but otherwise and I am very sorry here but no way getting back in touch.
Hi @PrettyFlower, after checking the person you mentioned (please try to not mention a listeners name in the forum when it is concerning a negative chat issue, you can always report them if ever needed)it seems she/he is no more in the site. Sometimes listeners don't really block you but for one reason or the other their account gets deactivated. A good thing to do when you are unsure of if the listener is no more on the site or has blocked you is to try to search for the listener. If you can't find their name they are either on break or have left the site, if you do find them try to see if you can send them a private message if that doesn't work it probably means you have been blocked but if that ever happens remember you can always connect to another listener so try to not let it get to you :)
