Is there anyway to filter thecountry a caller is in before taking request? I ask as I am from Australia and have a good knowledge of emergency services and helplines here but not in other parts of the world....so would feel more comfortable taking requests from those from Australia only

There isn't any way to filter that at the moment. It's an interesting idea, because I do get lots of general requests who don't speak English and end up having to refer them to Browse Listeners... But at the same time, it could cause bias toward the guest/member as listeners may be more inclined to take chats from one country only. Listeners could also feel less confident accepting a chat from a guest/member who's from a country that doesn't speak the same language, or a less well known country.I don't know, I just feel that may be the case :3

A possible solution can be to put a disclaimer on your profile that you prefer to get requests from people who are from the same country or speak the same language and instead of taking General Requests, you can put your status to online and wait to get Personal Requests.

I feel much more able to assist members from the UK due to a better knowledge of the outside services here and the cultural perceptions of many of the challenges members face. However on some threads I have noticed that people can become offended by profiles that are anything other than wholly inclusive so I would suggest some very careful wording to avoid misinterpretation. In addition to this I would like to let you know that if you do take on longer term members it is more than likely that most will be from your country or near enough due to time zones.
