high school
I don't really have many friends and I've been through a lot of trauma from younger years of school and since the beginning of middle school to nearly the end of high school I've been trying harder and harder to make food impressions and change people's thoughts of me but I'm too shy and scared and i don't even have many friends, people don't talk to me, and i feel like the one friend that i have is drifting and changing for the worste
I get it, trauma is my middle name....try making a poster of all the things you like about yourself, write out 100 things. I like the way I walk, read, write, art, eye color, style, etc..... Then post it up on a wall and read it out loud to yourself every day. It will create a positive pathway in your mind and it will make a difference. I like to doodle so I put flowers, hearts etc in spots in my poster. It's a way to catch my eye. Art does that. You are worth it!!
Ugh. This is familiar. I had trauma when I was younger and no matter what I did in HS, I never felt included or accepted. It’s awful. I’m so sorry you are feeling alone. There’s no quick fix for this one. Generally I think people kind of suck and at that age, everyone is so worried about themselves that nobody sees you for you and all that you can bring to a friendship. It can also feel like you are the only one because everyone’s insta looks like they have it all! But they don’t. Pix are usually a way to make it seem like life is better for them but it can suck just as badly, they just cover it up with posts about how they want to be seen. If your past trauma led to actions that have you sort of labeled in a way that prevents you from making new friends, it’s kind of a waiting game until your time around those people naturally ends. I think finding like-minded people is important. Is there anything where you live like clubs or programs where you can start fresh? I’m sorry your friend is changing. Only thing you can do is remind yourself that it isn’t because of you. ❤️
Loneliness through school years is very challenging. Things are a lot harder without friends who help you manage the stress of succeeding academically.
