Study Effectively: Mathematics
Studying Maths? Have a look at these...
Understand the concepts. Don't try to memorize.
Maths is a sequential subject so its important to have a firm understanding of the key concepts that underpin a mathematical topic before moving on to work on other, more complex solutions which are based on understanding the basics.
Practice, practice, practice. Mathematics requires time and patience to master.
Review your errors and doubts and understand where the problem occurred. Try to work on it.
Practice the example problems of each chapter to gain better understanding and improve problem-solving skill.
Make sure you understand all the notations of the equations.
Try to find as much as possible a quiet, distraction-free place when solving mathematical problems.

These are great!
Here are some other things that help me in maths:
- Rewriting formulas! I put them on flash cards or write them a few times to help remember them.
- Coming up with silly and fun ways to remember acronyms (eg for trig SOH CAH TOA could become a sort of story, or for circular functions ASTC could be CATS or each letter could stand for something)
- YouTube videos! There are some really great tutorials out there for maths that can help if your teacher isn't available, sometimes they have different methods to what your teacher uses that might suit you better!
