I am an eighth grader going to ninth in April, my final exams are going on right now. In ninth this year we are supposed to choose a 6th subject with out five main subjects, it's not compulsory but better if we do. We had 3 options, AI, arts, and smth related to innovation and stuff. Without discussing w me, or even informing me he chose AI even tho my interest lies in arts n wen my mum tried to reason he told her 2 shut up n dat I shud continue arts as js a hobby not career, I tried talking to him but he dismissed it saying stop being so stupid and think practically. I don't understand y my parents sacrifice, they're sacrificing 4 our sake, our happiness but then stop us and keep us away frm d things dat actually gives me sm type of relief and a moment to breath wen EVERYTHING IS KILLING ME. I've been trying to talk to him since d age of 12 and he nvr listens, I don't know what to do. I want to scream, become a bleeding mess so that they finally take me seriously u know.

I know I should seek professional help but the amount of pain that will come my way for seeking help is to great for me to make a move. Pls tell me wat I shud do in such a state.

@Yuri4841

I hear how painful and frustrating this feels for you. You’ve tried to express your interests for years, but it sounds like your voice hasn’t been respected, and that leaves you feeling trapped and exhausted. It makes sense that you’d feel hopeless when something that gives you relief, like arts, is dismissed.
I want to acknowledge your courage in sharing this — it shows strength. Even if things feel overwhelming now, hurting yourself won’t make things better. You deserve care and to be taken seriously. If seeking professional help feels too difficult at home, maybe reaching out to a trusted teacher, counselor, or a listener here could give you a safe space to be heard. You’re not alone in this, and your passion for arts is valid

@Yuri4841

I am sure this is a very frustrating experience, and it can leave you feeling like you are unheard or your voice does not matter. You've shown that you are interested in arts, but you were still signed up for AI anyway, even though that is not your interest. It is not easy to be so separated from your passion, and from something you value. I'm sure things feel overwhelming, but you are not alone. Your passion for art is a wonderful thing, and perhaps you can reach out to any trusted figure at your school.

@Yuri4841

I hear how much pain you’re in right now, and it sounds like you are suffocating under the weight of feeling ignored and controlled. It is incredibly draining and morally chained up to feel like your parents say they are sacrificing for your happiness while they dismiss art as the one thing that actually gives you the relief you need to survive everything else.

It makes total sense that you feel like screaming or wanting to show them your pain in a physical way just so they finally stop dismissing you as stupid" or impractical... when you’ve been trying to be heard since you were twelve and keep hitting a brick wall, that desperation can feel very overwhelming... Its incredibly brave of you to keep pushing for your passion for art, even when you feel like you’re hitting a brick wall with your father.

That spark you have for creativity is an important part of who you are, and even if it's being labeled a "hobby" right now, you deserve to have your happiness taken seriously, and the fact that you're still fighting for what makes you feel alive shows a strength that no AI course can teach. Perhaps reaching out to a listener on 7cups or an authority figure at school would help, good luck and best wishes

@Yuri4841 I’ve been in a similar situation, and while it’s really hard, try to stay calm and keep communicating your interests, maybe involve a trusted teacher or counselor to support you, because hurting yourself won’t make them understand but finding someone who can advocate for you might help. basketball stars

@Yuri4841 It must be quite painful. You’ve had to try to express yourself over the years, but it hasn’t worked out quite well and you still haven’t been heard. It’s understandable that having your art, which you love, especially if it’s one of your few safe places where you can express yourself.

Moreover, it looks like you’ve kept a lot of frustration inside for a long time, being always ignored when explaining how you feel.

I’m very glad you shared this with us. What was the most difficult part you need to deal right now?

@Yuri4841   I'm sorry you're dealing with so much pressure right now. Even if your dad isn't listening, your interests and goals still matter. Try talking with a trusted teacher, counselor, or another adult who can help you communicate your perspective. Please don't hurt yourself to be heard your feelings are important even without that. Sometimes parents focus so much on what they think is practical that they miss what truly motivates us.  улучшение качества картинки онлайн

@Yuri4841 I’m really sorry you’re going through this. It sounds like you’ve been carrying a lot of pressure for a long time, not just from your studies but also from feeling unheard by your parents. Your feelings about art matter, and wanting something that gives you comfort and helps you breathe doesn’t make you impractical or foolish. At the same time, I can hear how overwhelmed and exhausted you feel right now. When you said you want to become a bleeding mess so they finally take you seriously, it sounds like you’re in a lot of pain and really want someone to understand you. You deserve to be taken seriously without having to hurt yourself to prove how much you’re struggling.  fun games

If you can, try to reach out to someone you trust — a friend, teacher, counselor, or another adult who will listen without judging you. You don’t have to solve everything about your future today. Right now, focus on getting through this moment safely. Can I ask: when you said you want to become a bleeding mess, are you having thoughts of hurting yourself right now, or was that a way of expressing how overwhelmed you feel?

I think you can:
Write a letter to your parents about why arts matter to you, and try to have a calm conversation using "I" statements to share your feelings.
Talk to a trusted friend, teacher, or school counselor who can help you navigate your emotions and provide support.
Engage in arts as a hobby in your free time, and consider exploring online resources or classes to nurture your passion.
