I know I have a problem but it's been very hard to just not drink due to certain circumstances in life if you want to dm to talk more in depth/give deeper help I'm ok and would be open to talking and opening my issues up more but definitely looking to speak with someone who can help

These days, cutting back has been hard. I’ve been focusing on the cooler weather making it easier to get out and do stuff besides sitting around drinking.

Drinking or any other addiction are hard on us especially during this pandemic. I found that changing your way of like can help you with staying away from addictions. So make sure to clear your house of any alcoholic drinks, start doing activities that you like, start doing sports. It helped in my case and i’m sure it will help in your case. Stay strong!🤗

@8dgold8

I'm a "listener" here on 7 Cups and in training to become an addiction rehab counselor. Feel free to DM me and we'll find a time to chat.

I go to AA meetings and it helps me very much. I have a sponsor who I can talk to. I would be happy to talk to you. I am an easy person to talk to. I haven't had a drink in over 6 years. My drinking was a big problem and affected my family. It ended up in a divorce.

I know this is a bit late but several people mentioned AA. I wanted to mention that if for whatever reason AA doesn’t work for you, there will be some people saying you didn’t try hard enough, but there are other groups. There is also Women for Sobriety, Lifering, SMART Recovery, and I think something called SOS. I go to AA because those other groups are not in my area but I really benefited from zoom agnostic meetings and I’m starting to do Lifering bc I found a few zoom meetings on a secular AA list. I did Annie Grace’s Alcohol Experiment, that’s a free app. I go to therapy and I did a partial hospitalization program. I think a lot about how drinking will temporarily make me feel better but ultimately it wants me dead. But none of that mattered until I had something in life I wanted to live for. Getting into school and feeling accomplishment is when things started changing.

I'm sorry for you. But it happens sometimes, and the main thing is to support the person and send him to treatment. You can get rid of any addiction, when I had this problem, I started looking on the Internet for a solution and found an addiction rehab centre in Creigiau, where I was able to be cured by the program. Have you ever tried this treatment?

@8dgold8 I think yes, this is a serious problem. Daily drinking can lead to addiction. I think that if you drink, then rarely, on holidays or according to your mood, but if the mood is bad, then this does not mean that you need to drink every day, because because of this, it can develop into alcohol addiction.
