Looking for support to finally quit for good
I've been drinking pretty excessively almost everyday for months now. I've tried quitting multiple times before, only to cave to my cravings, but I can't keep going like this. Alcohol is having a huge negative effect on my mood/mental wellness, my sleep, my body and my wallet.
I think one reason I've struggled to get and stay sober is that I haven't told anyone in my life that I have a problem. I'm just too ashamed. But it's much easier to admit it to other people who are struggling with the same thing-- we're all here to get better, not to judge one another. I'd really love to build some kind of support system here so that I can move past this addiction and also help other people do the same thing.
First of all, I’m very proud of you for not giving up and trying to heal. 🤗❤️
I’m in a very similar situation to yours. And now in early sobriety. First sober weekend in months and it feels good, but I’m also crying a lot because now I’m feeling all the feels instead of masking them with alcohol.
I’m wishing you all the best in this journey, I can relate and it gives me hope. I’m glad to see you’re ready to put yourself first and start to truly live 🤗
It is like you have described my situation exactly. This right here is the reason I researched and signed up for the app. Don't have much to add to my situation other than to provide for my family I can't get professional help (I am not putting anyone at risk).
Checked out your profile, I like k-pop as well. Also a fan of j-pop, it grew on me while I was there. Would also like to add that there is a restaurant outside of Pusan naval base that serves the most amazing fried chicken. It cemented my love for Korean culture 😃
