Rock bottom
I thought I’ve hick rock bottom before - you know when I got my first 2 DUIs, lot multiple jobs, almost died in the hospital. But I still always went back to the alcohol. This time it’s the worst it’s ever been. I have a noise, two young kids, and I just got my 3rd DUI. I’m scared. My anxiety is through the roof. I feel like My future is so uncertain and I might lose everything. My husband can’t afford our house without my income. It’s like when is enough enough? I was warned so many times this would happen and I kept saying no it won’t happen to me I’ll be fine. I’m so sick of this disease. I just wanted someone to talk to or if someone can relate in any way?
@Underthesea1989 Hello, Sea. I am sorry to hear about your challenges with alcoholism. It sounds like it has led to a lot of issues in your life right now and I can tell you struggle to quit alcohol, even when the risk is as high as it is. I can't imagine the fear you are feeling and how the external stressors don't help you. I hope you are able to find someone on here to relate to. I do want to ask, have you ever with all these DUIs talked with a professional about prescription medications that might help with any urges or gone to rehab?
Hi , thanks for the response. Yes, I have been to therapy and treatment centers numerous times. It seems like every time i start to feel better I think I can go back to drinking and it’ll be different. And every time it’s worse. I am seeking treatment now. I just worry so much about my family and the pain and hardship I’ve caused them. It’s the worst feeling in the world. If only that was able to stop me while I’m in the influence- then nothing in the world seems to matter and i think I’m invincible.
@Underthesea1989 It can definitely be hard! Have you ever had a sponsor for this?
Totally understand and relate. No DUI thank God but plenty of home drama. Wife is loosing faith and I am too. I'm just lost in it.
I’m sorry :(
Hi. I am very happy that you are still alive with us. I am very sorry that you have been going through this. It broke my heart to read this. I abused alcohol in my college days. It takes a long to heal from, as I still have my days where I want to drink my life away when I’m dealing with stress. I am terrible at advice, but I just wanted you to know that I am here and I am someone that understands you. Your post was 2 months ago so I hope things are getting a bit better for you all :(
