Sneak drinking
Can someone please remind me why sneak drinking never works if your an alcoholic

Because recovery is not about appearing better, it is about actually being better. A drink is a drink and is continuing the mental and physical addiction, even if no one ever finds out about it. Take care of yourself and stay strong <3

Because that little drink to get you through the day usually ends with a full on binge. Further, its approaching your process dishonestly. Working to lessen your body and mind's dependency on alcohol is a process that requires you to first be completely honest with yourself and second be equally honest with everyone involved in supporting you through that process.
That being said, I think there is a great sense of liberation when one pours that drink or bottle down the nearest toilet. It's cathartic even as end the battle inside of you for at least the short term. Sometimes those short term victories are the only good news we have for a good long while, savor them.
@courteousChestnut899 It sets off the phenomenon of craving and reminds your brain of what it feels like to be drunk and before you know it, that one sneak drink turns into several and you're right back where you started. If you're an alcoholic, unfortunately, no amount of alcohol comes without the high risk of losing control over your drinking and winding up in a full-blown relapse.
Stay safe out there and we're here for you if you need us<3
