I used to drink a bottle of Evan Williams every 2 days..I would go to work drunk and take a couple of lines of coke in the bathroom..that was a little over a year now. It was hard to get over, but I'm proud of myself...its just that now I miss it, I'm becoming a new person in a new state and I find myself and my body yearning to go back. It was going on for so long that I don't know what kind of woman I am anymore. Its just a struggle to not go and buy some. Does it get any easier?

Having been through a fair amount of rehab, I’ve been taught that sadly, it often does not get easier. It’s the whole “one day at a time” concept...each day is a new challenge to remain sober. I have faced this issue myself, and have failed and relapsed in my low moments. But I think one of the best things to focus on is that pride you mentioned...you should be extremely proud of the intense struggle you went through to overcome those addictions. Take that pride, and the fact that you have gotten it together so well, and use it to show yourself that you’re better than that. There will always be low moments where restlessness and impulsivity try to take control, but things will always get better if you leave that possibility open by fighting your demons with resolve and making choices that leave the best chance for good things to happen. Stay busy, search for opportunities, and most of all, hold on tightly to whatever it is you hope for.
