I need help
This is probably the first time in my life I have dated to utter this phrase, even through text. I will die soon if I do not find a way to navigate past this because I do not care for life and am content to drink myself into oblivion.
I have nothing else to say, I'm just hoping that admitting this here will begin some sort of healing.
@UNDRGRND1 Stay strong pal, admitting it is the first step! Take care of yourself you worth a healthy way of living.
@UNDRGRND1 Hi, we seem to be in the same boat. We can support each other as we go through this healing phase of our lives. i think we have both taken the first step. Today will be my third day of sobriety, and I am already beginning to feel much better, even though my anxiety is on 10. You are strong and strength is what is needed to overcome this!
I hear you contemplating about being alive and that you want to find a way to navigate past the desire to drink yourself into oblivion. And that you have hope that admitting this here will help with some accountability and to start the healing that you need.
I hope together with you that this step will begin something for you or help change what needs to be changed. Everybody’s journey looks (and begins) differently. It is inspiring for me to see you reach out and fight for yourself amidst such strong thoughts and desires. I am impressed by your ability to find strength and clarity in yourself to speak up for what you need(even if you don’t yet know what it is).
I want to encourage you to keep writing, posting and interacting.
“Johann Hari famously concludes that the opposite of addiction is not sobriety, it is human connection.”
I personally would change the word “addiction” for “compulsive behavior”. Oh well, from this phrase I can take what I like and leave the rest :)
I am glad you are here, @undrgrnd1
Hang in there! The first big step is admitting there's a problem so that you can work to fix it. It will jot be easy may take a few tries but you can do it
We all here for you
