I wish I knew how to help myself

I was very young when I started drinking, I think I was 15. It was a way for me to cope, a way to escape and numb every memory, every emotion. After ten years of daily alcohol consumption, my life is ruined, I lost jobs, my health has declined, I lost friends, relationships. Every morning I wake up I'm covered in sweat and I'm shaking until I drink again and the panic attacks are really hard! I'm depressed, I don't know what to do, I wanna get sober, but at the same time I'm too drained to even try. I can't take it any further. I tried to quit cold turkey, but I ended up in the emergency and I relapsed when I returned home!

@Tinywhisper11 When I was hospitalized they tried to help me with withdrawal symptoms. I can't make it through a day if I don't drink. I don't even drink because I like it, it's hurting and burning my stomach. I drink because of how intense the symptoms are: panic, shaking etc.

@SeptimusAgnes72 Alcohol withdrawal can be extremely serious, I don't think you should try to quit cold turkey alone. Maybe enter rehab. You mentioned also that your health declined maybe medical detox could help, take care of yourself please! The way to recovery most probably have obstacles, but you will be truly rewarded! Stay strong and don't give up, there are people here who care indeed, we are here for you!

@SeptimusAgnes72 I'm really sorry to hear that things have been tough for you. It takes a lot of courage to talk about it, and I'm here to listen without judging. It seems like drinking has been a way for you to deal with hard feelings and memories, but it's causing problems in your life.

Feeling really overwhelmed and tired is totally okay given what you're going through. It's a big deal that you want to stop drinking. Trying to quit all at once can be hard, and it's good to have the right support. The fact that you're asking for help is a good step.

Have you thought about talking to someone professional or joining a group that can support you? Having people who care can make a big difference in getting better. There are folks and resources out there ready to help you. It's okay to take things step by step and ask for the help you need. You don't have to go through this alone. People care about you and want to help.

@blindGrace277 I'm in therapy for some time now, but I even got to my therapist drunk. I have a friend who is trying to help me (as far as he is able). I'm to the point that I drink because I kinda "have to", otherwise I will end up in the hospital having another panic attack. It's a vicious circle. The only thing that helps with panic attacks is exactly what is causing the problem..... I can't take it, I really can't
