Slowly breaking down

Not sure if this is the right group, please let me know if I’m not in the right place.

My husband is a drug addict (meth/cocaine) and a functional alcoholic. I don’t think he realizes how much it affects me to see him drink himself to sleep every weekend. He says he’s not hurting anyone yet I’m feeling unmotivated and depressed all the time. I hate who he is when he drinks and I hate who he turns me into and I can feel myself closer and closer to a complete meltdown.

I don’t know what to do or how to help, he refuses to get help and I’m afraid I’ll wake up one day and find him dead.

I am so sorry first that you are going thru this and second that NO one answered you here before now

..I am just a member that tries to reach out when i can but i have been in your shoes .... i let things go for a long time thought someday it will change etc...even if they quit the damage is  most likely done.

He is hurting himself  ( health wise) and you ( mental health wise).... he just does not see it ...... please do not wait like I did .............my spouse has ruined his health and has serious cognitive issues  now most likely to the long term alcohol use....... Now i am a caretaker and will look like a jerk if i left now. There is no love left only obligation....  i am unhappy and frankly alone as damage is done.

Im really sorry that you are going through this with your husband. Being married to a functioning addict is extremely hard.

My ex and I were in a similar situation where I also joined in the parting and also became an addict. We did group support groups , therapy... but he never wanted just me.. he became abusive wasted 10yrs  and we divorced. I recovered but sadly he's still floating. Sometimes you also have to focus on yourself and you own metal health. Just wanted you to know you aren't alone.

Sending you tons of puffer strength and glimmer. 🐡✨️✨️✨️✨️
