Weight gain
I been stressing a lot since the new year and going through some difficult times dealing with a lot at work too I started taking new medication around a few months ago and it has helped me suppress everything and dissociate from life I just turned 22 and I feel like I have a drinking problem I get wasted many nights and mornings drinking all the time to cope with stuff I just don’t have anybody to talk to when things get bad all I do is work and sleep I didn’t notice or realize how fast time kept going by I had to go get a physical done about a week ago for some permit when I went to see the doctor they pointed out to me that I’ve put on some weight since my last visit I was suprised to see how much I gained I felt embarrassed to suddenly finally realize that I didn’t even notice i got bigger until I was sober enough to see my clothes shrinking I just been feeling so down lately since I haven’t been drinking the pain away I was blind sided by this rapid weight gain i feel so insecure ever since my sister came to visit and gave me my shirt back from when I left it at her place a few monthes ago and it barely fit and then got into a whole argument about how I let myself go and need professional help I told her that I’m fine and will get through things and lose the weight eventually but the meds make me so tired and numb I keep trying to exercise more daily after work but apparently ive only gained another few more pounds and am a bit overweight now it just hits hard all the judgementslism upon me and I’m just more exhausted than ever trying to get back control over myself my family started to notice when my clothes got tighter on me and my belly started sticking out more I’m just embarrassed

Thank you for being so real and open—what you shared took a lot of courage. It sounds like you’ve been carrying so much on your own, just trying to keep it together while everything feels like it’s slipping out of your hands. That feeling of time passing in a blur, of not realizing how heavy things have gotten until it all hits at once—that’s something a lot of people silently live through, even if they don’t talk about it.
What you're going through makes sense. Between the stress, the medication, the drinking, and the exhaustion from constantly pushing forward, it’s no wonder your body and mind feel out of sync. You’re not lazy, weak, or broken. You’re someone who’s trying to survive the only way you know how right now. And while the weight gain might feel like this loud, undeniable reminder of everything you're going through, it doesn't define your worth or your progress. Neither does anyone else's opinion.
You deserve compassion, not criticism—for everything you're fighting through, seen and unseen. I hope you keep talking, even if it’s just like this. You’re not alone.
Much love,
Kayla 💕🌈
