Hi and welcome! It's not easy to admit but whatever the choice of substance you chose, if you see yourself reaching for it, if you become anxiout without it, I think it's safe to say you need an intervention. Over the counter and prescription pain medication is one of the hardest drugs that you can get your hands on. People sometimes bypass the seriouseness because it's medicine available for anyone or doctor prescribed it. Specifically prescription medication that are opioids or benzodiazepines have very dangerous withdrawls. I think you're in the right track. There is bunch of resources here on this sub communities and many people who had similiar stories. Feel free to message me if you need help nevigating through this website. Good luck and see you around!
So im guessin your pretty young based on the drugs you use. Btw not insulting you i used to love that shit. So first thing when you use a drug your gonna feel shittier in the morning depending on the drug. You said you use over the counter im guessing you mean stuff like cough syrup or triple cs. Let me tell u i craved tf out of triple cs before i was addicted. It was just fun. And idk how mych u know about drugs but when u use drugd your not gonna feel as good as you used too. Alot of people when there young take that as there just miserable people so they use more when if they just slowed down or quit theyd feel better. Your probably not addicted but addiction creeps up on you and makes you think your in control until its too late. I dtarted with shit your using too had no responsibilities thought id never be addicted it cant be that hard to quit a drug id never let it control me long story short 16 i finally realised i had a problem when i was using alot of coke started stealing for it got caught and long story short ended up in a mental hospital comedown was horrible. After i left i was motivated to quit 100% ended up using more a week later. 17 all i did was smoke bud take xanax alot of adderall roxys anything i could get my hands on. I had good times with my friends that year really good times but at thr end of the day i was miserable drugs werent for fun anymore it was to escape. 18 19 20 was the worst for me. At this point i was taking xans doing heroin fentanyl crack meth desnk everything life went downhill fast i ignored all my friends to get high my family i stole sold shit i lost three jobs in total because of drugs since i started using went to rehab twice inpatient and 3 times outpatient. i wanted to kill myswlf every day but was hoping the drugs would do it cuz i was too much of a pussy to do it. Im sorry im bad at story telling tried to make it small as i could theres so much shit i could say that happened but didnt wanna make this to big. im trynna tell you that if your worried about being addicted be smarter than me and either cut back or quit entirely. Using drugs like you are talking like you are saying youd take other shit if it was available sounds like me when i was younger before shit went down. You dont need to be an addict to get help man. Alot of people i knew who started using the drugs u use at a young age includong me alot of them are addicts now. Ill tell you one more thing if i knew addiction was like this i woulda definitely cut back. Theres way more to it than what people tell you. Just something to think about.
