Ahh gosh luvvie, I just want to put my arms around you and tell you everything is going to be alright. Unfortunately, Im going to be the bearer of bad news, in my opinion, you can not reason with an addict whilst they are high or using, this is because the substance addiction has taken over their ability to feel true emotions whilst they are high. They are incredibly sorry whilst they are clear, But unfortunately have very little control whilst they are using. My suggestion to you hunni, you cant try and fix someone who doesnt want to be fixed, fix yourself, repair the hurt thats been caused you, and rebuild your life from there, you are worth a millions times more than what your currently receiving. I wish you the best of luck, stay strong beautiful

@professionalPerspective60 You are so right. I have been in this same situation with an addict (and I was an addict myself at the time) who would say the most vile, vicious things to me and accuse me of doing everything (and everyone) under the sun. It got so bad that at one point I seriously considered suicide because it seems like the only way I would be rid of him and his evil. Eventually though, I fould my strength and left him and my addiction behind me completly. True freedom from both only came when I finally learned to love myself and value my life and happiness above everything else and that I was worth fighting for. It wasn't easy and it took some time, but I eventually got there and was able to re-buff my exes attempts to reconcile. I am so much happier now and I know you can achieve the same happiness to. You are worthy of happiness and real love sweetheart. Stay strong.....you will get through this

my opinion as an formal addict the drug is a whole mind over matter the abuse is the way people use it everyone can say u can help or stop an addict nor can u forgive them false u can I was able to stop on my own with no help its the way people take in their situations and the support they have trust me when I say this I lived it my sons dad was an addict and continue his addiction long after I stopped when an addict is loved n feels that they will stop I got him clean for 5 years than left him after he cheated on me which lead him to relapse again unfortunately I lost him because of his addiction some people need to understand addiction is something we use to not feel no more when we are high when we are sober we are beautiful and see things differently dont give up keep the hope and faith and fight.... good luck
