National Substance Use Prevention Month 2022
Dear Readers,
October is National Substance Use Prevention Month. This year I am sharing a set of recovery quotes that resonate with me in the General Addiction Support forum.
Having lost friends and family to both overdose and prison for things they never would have done under ordinary circumstances, I want to use my platform to spark conversation and spread awareness this month.
Over 108,000 individuals lost their lives last year alone.
How has addiction impacted your life? Have you found yourself challenged by the responsibility of balancing love with boundaries? Do you have questions about enabling or healthy detachment?
If so, please reach out. Maybe I can help in some small way if for no other reason than to protect your own heart and mind from the devastation of addiction.

Thank you for using your platform to spread awareness and give a space to spark conversation!
I do have someone in my life that has struggled with addition. It's definitely hard to find the balance between giving love and setting boundaries. Especially since addiction can come with co-dependency at times and not wanting to fund their addiction. Appreciate you sharing these resources! :) 💛

Thank you for your valuable input, Joy! I am so sorry you know what it’s like to love someone with an addiction. It’s one of the hardest things anyone can go through.
Co-dependency is a very toxic thing indeed. Do you feel you are good at setting boundaries?
Hope you have a blessed day! ♥️

I have not always been great at setting boundaries but have learned and am continuing to learn along the way! Have a blessed day as well! :)💛
