Dealing with a copy cat relative.

I have this relative who has been copying everything that I do. At first it was flattering. But now I feel like her motive is more than that. I feel that she has a “Anything you can do I can do better” vendetta against me.

My first time realizing her doing the things I do is when I decided to become a YouTube content creator. And yes anyone can do that. But if you do that you must at least try to be original right? I mean cmon now.

So I created my channel and a thumbnail with a specific pose. And she created her channel with the same exact pose. Coincidence? Nope. But this is where is gets weird.

I created a tik tok channel. And I put certain things on my video. Guess what? She created a *** and did the same exact things. No originality whatsoever. Okay. Now I know you’re probably thinking. Oh get a grip! Who cares. In the world of social media and content creation people are remaking things all the time.

Hmmm. That is true. But when it’s someone in your immediate family who is quite successful in multiple careers with a huge support system. It makes you feel like they are trying to take whatever happiness you have and make it their own.

To me being raised by a mother who was dubbed as a mentally unstabled outcast. Whom the family treats like a black sheep. To me it feels like I am a creative unicorn who was born from that. And the family is like no ma’am you need to be crazy and a failure like your momma.

Anywho, just to name a few more creative ventures that this relative of mine has decided to to duplicate. Is I started a wedding company. She then starts a event company. And here’s the next thing that she has decided to copy this month. I just found out as I was minding my business scrolling social media. I am an author and I take pride in that. I have given up on being a content creator, I am thinking of shutting down my wedding business, but one thing I’ll never give up on is being an author. But guess what. She just announced that she is now an author and will be releasing a book soon.

Now I couldn’t believe my eyes when I seen this.

Okay, I am pretty good at gaining success and followers on my own. My tik tok reached over 1k followers, my YouTube had increadable engagements, and my wedding business who thriving we did a great deal of weddings and have reviews to show for it. And I am doing pretty well as an author. I actually decided that I will be rebranding my author business.

However I am so afraid to even share that idea because she may steal that too!

She has the support of the family unlike me since I was born from a black sheep.

She don’t have to work as hard to get her work recognized. She had an advantage in that department. I have to work twice as hard to build an authentic following and fan base.

I understand that social media is the way to build success theses days. But is there anyway I can just hide from social media and do things the old fashion way? Like with word of mouth? I’m just so tired of getting my ideas taken. This person is a realtor, a nurse, and a notary. Why do she have to add what i do to her titles. And she legitimately said on her social media, here’s the next thing she is adding to her name, “author”.

@tinyHouseWife I am sorry your relative seems to be unsupportive. The whole story sounds like a story in the movies. I did not know that sibling rivalry could be that intense.

My own encounters with sibling rivalry was not improved by the other person changing but my me changing first and not reacting to what they say and do. The inspiration for this was this book. Hope you get the support you are looking for.

@tinyHouseWife wow! Makes me kinda glad not to have any family. You were definetly a special unicorn and I think maybe your mum was too. Sounds like your relative, really takes pleasure in making you feel like a failure. But you are really talented and creative. A author in its own is enough to be so very proud of yourself, but social media stuff, and a wedding company, you are definitely succeeding in life ❤ I'm sorry you are going through this😥it's very sad. Much love to you ❤❤
