but he is close to one girl

Admitting that you are jealous takes courage!
Jealousy can bring so much pain. I'm so sorry that you're being affected by it now. Is there any way you could meet with him and find out how he feels about you?
I tried but im so confused i dont know what to do
try getting involved in any kind of activity with him and try initiating yourself. Or ask him if he could help you with study or something. Getting closer can make a way for you two. All the very best.

As you have said that he is close to that girl. She might be or might not her Girl Friend. To check whether he really had a Girl Friend or not. Try to make Friendship with him and you might slowly come to know about him and about his Girl Friend. And try not to reveal your feelings till you come to know what is going around his mind else sometimes you might get hurt badly in the end.
