Music and Mental Health
Music has a unique ability to uplift and boost your mood by directly influencing your emotions and energy. Listening to upbeat melodies, inspiring lyrics, or rhythms that resonate with you can increase feelings of happiness, motivation, and hope. Music stimulates the brain’s reward system, releasing feel-good chemicals like dopamine, which helps reduce stress and improve overall well-being. It can also serve as a positive distraction from worries or negative thoughts, allowing you to reconnect with joy or find comfort during difficult times. Whether through dancing, singing along, or simply absorbing the sounds, music has the power to elevate your spirit and create a sense of emotional renewal.

I do love music. It helps me to be present and in the moment. Often times when I am having a difficult day, singing along, can be helpful. When I’m anxious, somebody gave me a suggestion to listen to classical music so , I’ve been doing that and I do find it helpful, even if it’s just in the background. But definitely some 90s uplifting music is my favorite.
