Parents dilemma
Hi , I'm Farnaz 22 years old , I'm caught between a dilemma, the dilemma that is my parents. Unfortunately, my mother's father is an addict and a womanizer, and my father has serious problems with him. On the other hand, my mother forces me to go to parties where he is also present, which I do not like at all and I feel that I am betraying my father. Today my father is very angry with me about this issue and I don't know what to do to make him understand that I didn't want to go to that course but I had to.
Now my father is so mad at me and he's blaming me for that . He really believe I betrayed him and I'm kinda a enemy to him, but it's not like that , I was forced and I even had no chance to even say my own feelings about attending at that party.
@Farnazi now I don't know what to do, how to talk to my dad , how to talk to my mom, how to convince both of them.
@Farnazi I am sorry you are in a difficult position. It sounds like your father may be using this situation as an excuse to emotionally give you a rough time. I hope you find the support you are looking for here.
@soulsings I'm feeling guilty about it. Every minute that passes is getting harder and more unbearable for me, I don't know what to do, but both my father and mother put me in the middle and criticize my every move and expect me to go to one of them. Actually, I have to choose between my parents and it's very difficult because I love them both very much but I can't make them both happy at the same time.
@Farnazi that is difficult. Is there an aunt or uncle that can act as a moderator or negotiator to help work things out? There needs to be someone more experienced with people to help you.
