What’s going on?
Lately I’ve been feeling confused. I’ve been with my fiancé for 5 years already. Obviously the first 2 years was full of adventures and beautiful memories. After that it’s been feeling like we hardly have those days together. Both of our jobs are not demanding at all. But we do have different schedules he has morning and I have afternoons. But even when we are together in our room with nothing else to do he goes straight to watching reels on social media. Don’t get me wrong I do the same but not when I’m with him. Sometimes I try to tell him let’s watch a movie or let’s play chess or let’s go for a walk but he just not motivated to do it like we use to. He’s more into his phone. I feel like the more I try to make beautiful memories together it’s just annoying him more. I don’t know I’m just trying to get my feelings back towards him, I don’t want to leave him or break him, I love him. I just don’t feel that connection with him anymore as I did 3 years ago it’s like it’s fading just as he’s fading into his phone. And then i go to find out he sends his boss funny reels even when we are together, or when he’s driving he gets text from his boss and he immediately tries to respond when he driving. I’ve had multiple discussions about this because it’s a habit for him to get his phone when driving. And I don’t like it because it’s very dangerous. Especially if when we have kids he’ll be doing that and I’m not going to allow it with our kids in the car. I always mention to pull over or wait until he arrives to wherever we are headed. One time he’s did pull over but he pressed on the breaks fast and there was a car behind us. I don’t know if I’m being to much with this and it shouldn’t matter and I should just move on and hope it’ll change. But I’m not sure what my heart is telling me. I’m confused, lost, and don’t want to lose the person I fell in love with. Any advice will mean so much to me??? Thank you ❤️
@BeeRays22 I am sorry that you are discovering things about your fiance that are disturbing and in some cases unsafe. Have you talked to them or are they very hard minded and not easy to talk to?
The nice thing about a long engagement is we have time to really get to know someone. The problem is the "honeymoon" period when we are madly in love does not last whether if is after or before a wedding. I do not know what you should do because I do not know all your circumstances and how much your finances are tied up together.
What I do hear from you is that you are not comfortable with the person you are engaged with because they look different than when you first knew them.
Have you considered getting a therapist who would go into more detail about this with you.
