Hello all of you,

I hope you are healthy and doing well during these challenging times. I'm so glad right now that you're on 7 Cups and reaching out.

Thank you for all of your wonderful contributions to this sub-community. We have plans to make it really engaging and I wanted to say
a big thank you to soulsings for all of his attentive work. If you have any suggestions then we will soon be creating a space for you to send in those :) We want to make this space tailored just for you because we truly value your feedback! Thank you for making it such a positive and welcoming space.

Today, (if you feel comfortable) please could you share one thing that you've learned in online therapy at 7 Cups.

I will start by sharing what I learned in therapy when I had to attend as part of my training to become a therapist. I learned that a lot of the struggles I had were due to my own expectations of how things should be. Often in life, our expectations do not match reality so I think for me that was a really significant lesson that I learned in therapy. It changed my way of thinking which in turn changed my behaviour and the thoughts I had on certain aspects of my life. It was very healing! :)

I learned that it can be a struggle but with time patience and hard work therapy is very helpful. Therapy let's you explain to others what your going through and that you just talk it out and get support it makes it somuch easier than trying to figure it out by yourself

@imaginativeTurtle894 I agree. Since I have been here helping people, I feel my own personal growth has benefited from this experience.

One thing I've learned in therapy at 7 Cups is how genuine, professional and caring the therapy is and the therapists are here.

One Thing That I've Learnt in Online Therapy at 7 Cups is.... It's okay to vent and have a bad day and know that there are others going through the same thing.

These are all wonderful lessons you've learnt in therapy and so beautiful to see them being applied in your lives and making things feel better ;)

I'd love to hear more, you can also share more than once too!

That most of humans are still neglecting their real life support and using mobile phones to self criticize. Enjoy with what we have.

...is that... words can only convey so much, and that only applies with a skilled communicator. So much else is missed. The therapist can't see the person's body language, demeanor, they way they are dressed, their facial expressions when they're sharing their story.. they can't see if there is tension during specific moments in order to know whether to probe more or let things go... they can't hear the client's tone of voice either or know if they are crying while they're responding, self harming, punching walls and so on. Anyone can type the words, "I'm fine" but only a therapist who is looking at you and taking all of this into consideration would know that you aren't.
