What kind of decisions are toughest for you and how do you finally make a decision?

Hi Everyone! Today’s question is what kind of decisions are toughest for you, and how do you finally make a decision? Sometimes certain decisions that we make throughout our lives are tough, and we have to find ways to make decisions even if it seems impossible.

The toughest decisions for me are decisions about my family and my life. I usually make these decisions by weighing the pros and cons of each choice, and I choose the one with the most pros. What about you guys? What kind of decisions are the toughest for you, and how do you finally make a decision?

I would love to hear you what you all have to say about this topic 😊.

I don't know how to make the decision of returning to work. Its been the hundredth major depressive episode and its just getting harder to climb back up and patch everything. Been avoiding work for two weeks and feel I cannot do anything.

Dealing with depression can be very tough and make it very hard to focus on your work. I'm really sorry you're going through this. Something I find helpful when having to take an important decision is to go out for a walk in the fresh air and if possible talk to a friend. Often, when we explain to others about our feelings and challenges all becomes clearer and this will make it easier to decide what to do. Have you considered to get treatment if your episodes start to impact your life heavily?

Btw, what are you doing on a daily basis to help stabilize your mood?

Sending you warm hugs (if accepted)

@amiablepeace77

Thanks for your response.

I'm. Finding it impossible to meet anyone or go outside at moment as last walk I tried I was overcome with thoughts about death. When I'm especially thinking about death regularly I find it impossible to consider anything else which involves making decisions.

I have been in different therapies for years. I'm on medication daily and last week I was started on another new medication which is yet another guesswork and torture to go through.

@Desmynn6789 thnx a lot. Will keep that in mind.

I have since made an online appointment at end of month with the employee support to discuss this as I feel I'm getting disabled by recurrent depression

Great question Desmynn but also a tough one tbh 😊. The toughest decisions to make for me are those affecting my life with my husband and friends. I rely a lot of my gut, don't really go against my inner feelings but I do check whether my feelings are manipulated by fear or anger etc. I'm trying to find the real authentic inner voice in me. I also have a look at the pros and cons.

Hi @amiablePeace77, I think that’s a great way to make decisions. Sometimes our decisions can be misguided by our emotions which can cause us to decide on something we really didn’t want. There has been a time where my emotions had guided my decisions, and it ended up costing me. However, now I always make sure that I am not emotionally manipulated before making a tough decision. You gave great insight on this question, and I am glad that you shared your perspective ❤️.

The decisions where you have to go against what your emotions say and go with what your mind says. I've fallen (faceplanted) so stinking hard for someone to the point where I think about them every day, multiple times a day. I would give anything to be with them but I don't believe I'm emotionally ready. Waiting is an incredibly hard decision for me right now.

I've never really talked about it, so it helps to voice it.

@JayTee95, Going against your emotions can be challenging, especially when it conflicts with what your mind is telling you. Sometimes waiting until you are ready emotionally can help you clear your mind and decide what you really want. I appreciate you sharing this as I know it must have been tough to 😊.
