Support, Icebreakers and Resources
Hello everyone!
In this space, 7Cups focuses on supporting those emergency services, medical professionals, and veterans.
Right now theres a lot going on across the world for everyone. The past few months… no, the past year in fact, has been a very difficult and stressful one for all of us.
No matter which aspect of this community you fall under, we are here for each other.
Everyone deserves the same kindness, respect and support. Whether you are police, fire, paramedics, dispatch, search and rescue, first responders, nurses, doctors, medical caregivers, support workers, humanitarian workers, active duty, reserves, veterans, volunteers. Or anyone else who is currently or has previously worked in this or a similar field. And of course, the families too.
We are all experiencing what is going on together as a community, one who is here to support one another.
Feel free to share in a few icebreakers!
1.) What are some struggles you are facing lately?
2.) How is your support system?
3.) What are some ways you support others?
4.) What is one positive thing you are looking forward to this weekend?
If you need some support right now, feel free to reach out to one of 7Cups available listeners. Find a space to chat in a 7Cups support room. Or connect to available resources.
Hey! Been pretty shut out so didn't realize there was a new post in here
1.) What are some struggles you are facing lately?
Well I think the big thing right now is grieving my son who recently passed away from suicide, and trying to get paperwork sorted to return back to work.
2.) How is your support system?
At the moment not great as I tend to deal with things by shutting down and ignoring the world. I do have my few people though.
3.) What are some ways you support others?
Probably by trying to listen, making sure I check in with people, helping friends and family
4.) What is one positive thing you are looking forward to this weekend?
Weekend is half way over, but did a lot of walking, and pokemoning, looking forward to getting this apartment cleaned up and organized again.

Sorry to hear about the loss. I know that's a very big grief to struggle with.
Filing paperwork and starting the process to return to work can definitely be a challenge to anyone.
It's good to hear you do have a few people who support you through your struggles. And that you are committed to checking in with others, listening and helping loved ones.
The time playing Pokemon, and spent walking sounds relaxing. A clean and organized apartment is always something to look forward to.
