What was the first record, tape or CD you ever owned?

The first one I remember listening to was about phonics. My parents didn't speak much English, and my grandparents didn't know English at all, so my parents used CDs to teach me and my brother the alphabet. I remember it playing in the background when we were playing, and the "g-g-g-ghost" it used to teach the letter G

What was the name of the artist or album?

Haha, I don't know that.

Question of the day: looking back on your life, what do you think is the most important thing you have learned?

I've learned that I need time to heal. As much as I would like to find a coping mechanism that works immediately, or a pill I could take to make everything better, or the perfect therapist or listener who could make me feel loved and safe, I know that's not how recovery works. There are many steps in this process, like forgiving the people I blamed for my pain, learning to ground myself when the memories and nightmares came, and learning to support my own needs emotionally instead of depending on other people for validation.

It's been a long journey, and I've had many breakthroughs and setbacks, but I've learned so much. I won't give up on myself, and I know I can get better
