Right now atm ima ok,.

Right now the whole song The Wall by Kansas ima feeling right now. However these particular lyrics will do.

I'm woven in a fantasy, I can't believe the things I see
The path that I have chosen now has led me to a wall
And with each passing day I feel a little more like something dear was lost
It rises now before me, a dark and silent barrier between
All I am and all that I would ever want to be
It's just a travesty, towering, marking off the boundaries
My spirit would erase

Hey it's nice to see you again :) it can't be easy to post every time, totally understandable that sometimes it gets complicated! welcome back!

1. What Song Lyrics do you relate to , help you in recovering or help you feel better in General?

I am Woman was a good one for me. Also Girl on Fire. Also Vulnerable by Selena Gomez (and that entire album).

2. Why has music helped you , is it your number 1 method ?

I think it helped me a lot to not feel alone at first. To be cheered up, to have musical cheerleaders saying "this will pass, this will end, you'll be ok" - nowadays I use music to dance my trauma off. I put random music in my kitchen and dance until I feel better and so many emotions get out this way. Even weird ones, I didn't know I could dance my sadness but then I did yesterday :) I usually use feminist music to dance, just because they have a lot of emotions in them and they are usually angry and I like to get my anger out like this!

3.Be Creative write/share a Song you would write to help others relate to you can be a poem if not a song.

I don't know that I have written anything like that lately. Lyrics of the above songs are great.

4. how are you all feeling today?

I'm sort of ok. I've been pretty dissociated of late, I'm a bit better today (lots of crying done yesterday lol). Doing some trauma integration. I'm on holidays this evening and talking to my therapist in an hour. Looking forward to that, even though I have a feeling it's going to be heavy. It's somehow light to finally talk about heavy stuff.

@CaringBrit Hey How are you?

I'm a little bit off today, something down inside me's different
Woke up a little off today, I can tell that something's wrong
I'm a little thrown off today, there's something going on inside me
I'm a little bit off today, a little bit off today
(I'm a little bit off today, a little bit off)
See, I'm a little bit off today, I cannot put my finger on it
Got up a little off today, just to play that same old song
I don't really wanna try today, I see nothing in my reflection

Five Finger Death Punch - ALittle Bit Off

Music is a great way to express yourself. Your moods - your state of mind. So it allways varies and changes. I can find a song for everything

Ironically - I'm alittle bit off today :)

Thanks for the checkin Brit - It's nice to see you

A whole hearted Thank You to @NoneTheWiser - Thank you for everything you do here! You're awesome!

1. What Song Lyrics do you relate to , help you in recovering or help you feel better in General?

A song that has helped me a lot in my recovery from Trauma is Andra Day's Rise Up🌄

2. Why has music helped you , is it your number 1 method ?

🎼 Music has always been my safe place, always made me feel good. I have been singing since before I can remember. I just feel alive and in the present. When I feel anxiety creeping in I sing and very often it helps.❤

3.Be Creative write/share a Song you would write to help others relate to you can be a poem if not a song.

Abba's Thank you for the music🎤🎵

I'm nothing special, in fact I'm a bit of a bore
If I tell a joke, you've probably heard it before
But I have a talent, a wonderful thing
'Cause everyone listens when I start to sing
I'm so grateful and proud
All I want is to sing it out loud

So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it? I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance, what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

4. How are you all feeling today?

I'm feeling pretty good. I'm in my parents holiday home and just enjoy the peace and quiet.🏡☕🍓

I love Praying by Kesha. It's a beautiful song and the lyrics really resonate with me. I think she wrote it coming from a place of trauma recovery herself so it's no surprise so many people find it so powerful heart

Hey everyone! I am feeling better today than two days ago. I received some good news that will hopefully come to fruition and I am hesitant to be hopeful because I don't want to be disappointed but still I can't help feeling a bit excited.

As far as music I think I have a couple that hit home, but right now the one that sticks out to me is Skyscraper by Demi Lovato

Skies are crying, I am watching
Catching teardrops in my hands
Only silence, as it's ending
Like we never had a chance
Do you have to make me feel like
There's nothing left of me?

You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper, like a skyscraper

As the smoke clears, I awaken
And untangle you from me
Would it make you, feel better
To watch me while I bleed?
All my windows still are broken
But I'm standing on my feet

You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper, like a skyscraper

I don't know that music is my main way of coping, but I do enjoy it especially when I am driving home from work in the evening. It helps me unwind a bit.

@CaringBrit

This might be my all time favourite topic.

When people ask me how i managed to stay strong, and how I kept my head up after my traumas, "Music" is and will always be my answer <3

Whether it is hours of just listening, hours of playing them all night, or writing something original. It saved me. Litterally. and I'm beyond grateful for that :) It sure is my #1 coping mechanism.

When it comes to sharing lyrics here, there would be too many to write down, however, when I read this post, One particular song came to mind. It reminds me that despite people telling you to " move on", that it is okay to not be okay. that it is okay to think back sometimes. that it's okay if we can't manage to talk about it. that we are human <3

We're taking turns
At shattering apart.
At least we're taking turns.

How did we get so good
At dismantling these hearts?
How did we ever get so good?

We dress our best
To receive their sympathy.
At our worst, we dress our best?

Time heals all
According to these greeting cards.
Oh how we'd rather time resets.

If we could turn the hourglass, we would.
If we could move a grain of sand, we would.
If we could find our way back, we would.

Our minds keep spinning webs
Of question marks and of regrets.
Will our minds keep spinning webs?

I once heard honest words:
"Though nothing may ever be the same,
The heart keeps widening for change."

A huge thanks to this great community, and a lot of love to everyone of you reading this. you are amazing, you are strong and you're worthy <3 Take care all of you <3
