I'm not sure how I am. I haven't felt positive emotion for a few days now.

I decided to tell my doctor that what she said negatively impacted my ED and asked to switch to a new one. Now I'll be getting a new one but it doesn't feel like a victory. Just feels like drama. Like I probably deserved what was said and I'm making drama about it.

@Lexloveslife Hey :) I don't often know how I am either. There usually so much going on

I think it's really good that you told your doctor how she negatively impacted you and while it may seem like drama right now I hope it has a positive outcome for you. Maybe this new doctor will be more considerate and and have a more positive impact. No matter what - noone deserves to hear things that impact you negatively.

Hey AveryLove,

I'm doing ok right now for the first time in almost a week. Not amazing but much much better. I hope to continue on this trend with some self-care and self-love and trauma control :)

What's on my mind is how confusing trauma can be when it involves a loved one or someone you're close to. The mixed feelings, the having a relationship or the family dynamic that comes into play. It can really lead to taking things the wrong way or understanding things against all good sense or against your gut feelings. In my case and situation, it's really sad that it is what happened because then everything became confused and lines were blurred between love and abuse. So yeah, that's what's on my mind.

@HenrietteK Hey :) Its good to hear that you're doing ok.

You're so right about how it can be so confusing. Especially when it comes to family - there's allmost an unspoken bond when it come to family it seems. It's hard to know where the lines should be - at least they are for me. You know something doesn't feel right but yet you find youreself making excuses for other people because it's family. I know I end up doubting myself alot about wha I'm thinking and feeling. Allways second guessing myself. I really hope with time some clarity is brought to those blurred lines

@HenrietteK I felt this post so I thought I should comment and let you know that you're not alone! My most complex feelings about my trauma come with the invisible strings that are attached. No one is lukcy to have trauma, but there is an appeal to a trauma that you can walk away from, and remove from your life. When it involves family, those invisible strings can get so tangled... Try not to trip on them! I can tell you're working hard and doing your best. So here's a message saying, "Keep going!" from someone who can understand heart

I am feeling good, other than worrying about applying for jobs during a pandemic! Haha. I'm also gonna start some serious studying for my dream career today and I'm really nervous... I know I can do it, though. I know I can. And it's gonna go great!!! And I'll build a portfolio and get an awesome job!!!!!!

I've been doing okay. Been a little stressed out but working through it. I've been sorting through my stuff. I have a ton of stuff to give away and that makes me feel better.

@AveryLove I've been working through my stress by writing and doing mindfulness. I've been using it as a motivator.

@AveryLovei

I am new to.this site. I am a registered nurse and mother of 2 grown children. I am blessed to have a 4 yo grandson who makes me beam. I have been married for 22 years. I am a survivor of neglect. emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. I have persevered. I have forgiven. I am in so much pain I cant stand it. When does it quit hurting that you were not important enough to be loved? I was recently going to my parents house. My father who stayes he didn't know his friend was a creep and bothered me now has him up regularly to his home. my parents have all there party buddies up but state they wont be coming around their children due to covid 19. I accept my parents are survivors of abuse themselves but I cant quit hurting. why? I would give my life for my children why cant i get over this?

I'm kind of new to this whole forum thing, just 7 cups in general really. But I guess I am not doing all that well. I've recently come to the realization that I was emotionally abused for a long time while I was growing up by a girl I had feelings for and who I thought was my best friend. So that's pretty much the only thing that's been on my mind for a few days. I'm trying to be okay with using the word trauma. My therapist wants me to remember that using it doesn't take away from anyone who has been through worse, or like make me weak or something. But I'm still not super comfy with it. I dunno, I guess I just am looking for some people who have been through some stuff too.
