Traumatic Experiences Community Daily Check In Wednesday 25th October 2017
Hello and Good Moring all.
DeborahUK has some errands to run today and asked me to cover for her today. She should be back either later on or tomorrow, no worries.
I would also like to take a quick moment and apologise to anyone whom tried to attend the support session on Monday and couldn't get in. Amandisa and I couldn't find the person with the keys. We're terribly sorry for that. Theres been some changes going on lately but I'll leave that to others to discuss.
The one most important thing to me right now is "Time Management". Often we have so many things going on we can fall behind or get overwhelmed by too much going on. The one way out of this is to prioritize everything, set ourselves a firm shedule and keep to it. To do this we use Daily Planners, Notebooks, Calanders, The Calanders on our computers and phones, etc. How do you prioritize, keep track of, and manage your time to keep things running smooth?
I wish everyone peace and happiness today.
So how are you? What busy things do you have going on today, and how do you prioritize your tasks?
The World is Yours, this is a safe place, please feel welcome to use it.
Time management - interesting one. Time usually flies for me, not enough hours in the day. But have recently been having medical tests that have been very triggering, and time seems at a standstill as I wait for results and further tests. Its very daunting when it feels impossible to tell anyone how traumatic it is due to earlier abuse.
@BestIcanbe Hugs Best. It is in my medical file that I have PTSD. With that there Dr's, Nurses and other attendants are very kind to me I find. They tend to check on me alot to make sure I am well. Never hesitate to discuss your issues with your medical providers, it makes for a better experience.
And Time??? Unitl I began school, and took scheduled duties here, other than appointments I have no need of watching time, I honeastly have lived most of my life simple, morning, noon, evening, night. It's a good way to be.
can anyone join in here?
@dynamicShip37
Of course you can Ship. What
I guess not :(
@dynamicShip37 Hi Dynamic, I'm Raven. Yes anyone may join here.
This is the Traumatic Experiences Support Community. This place is for Survivours of Trauma, and that's the content of all our forum threads and group discussions. We ask that people keep things Trauma related here, as this is one of the serious corners of 7cups where we focus on maintaining and getting better.
Time management, I am really good at this but I could NOT function without my calendar. I am really good at fitting an awful lot into a small amount of time. With that said good time management and always getting things done in a timely and organized fashion means that I am always expected and asked to do more. Lately I have been really working more on boundaries than time management. I have always been that one to pitch in and help with everything and NEVER leave myself and unscheduled time. I am starting to schedule time to do absolutely nothing or whatever I want. No work, no school, no volunteer expectations. I have even turned my pager off which is a real stretch for me. I am starting to learn that being on call all the time comes with a lot of unnecessary stress. Of course there are times I need to do it, but not all the time. I have been letting other people handle things and for me that is a challenge.
Someone I might make it to mediocre at this balance thing but in the meantime I will settle with the very small step.
How was your day?
My day wasn't great because I am either getting sick or have a sinus infection and fought off a headache, cough with sneezing and a face that feels like I hit a brick wall. Pretty sure sinus infection from the severe weather change. But didn't feel well today and worked both jobs today. Exhausted is only the half of it. I don't even have time to be sick right now. Can't afford to take any time off.
@EMSFireChic1985 Hugs EMS, ya theres definately many times to turn off notification.
Sounds like your doing pretty well, exceptions to your catching an illness.
Take that time off hon, and remember the great quote from the film Office Space, "I did aboslutely nothing today... And it wa everything I ever dreamed it could be."
Alright everyone, Many hours for me today and I must now go and tend to myself (cartoons).
Sleep Well, Good Morning, Good Afternoon everyone.
Much Love alle
Raven
I have lost all focus where time management is concerned recently. I struggle because of lack of routine due to ptsd. I need to figure something out quick :(
@dynamicShip37 No worries hon. Relax. If you chose any Listener in Trauma Support or the site, we can help you with many ways to organize yourself. Please feel free to post us. :)
@Raveninthelabrynth and they can help? Because I can't do this alone anymore
