Happy Christmas Eve eve lovelies!

After reading through your comments last time about suggestions you guys want to see I decided to implement all of them and when I run out, ask again. So every check in will have some piece of info to help you guys out as long with themed questions.

So todays we will be starting with… *drumroll please*

How to deal with a trauma reminder!

So every Sunday we have a new way to deal with trauma reminders. Today I wanna focus on flashbacks, I have had plenty of these and I know some of you guys have too. So today we will be talking about grounding! A great way to pull yourself out of a flashback! To learn more about the 54321 grounding exercise click this link! https://copingskillsforkids.com/blog/2016/4/27/coping-skill-spotlight-5-4-3-2-1-grounding-technique

My questions for you today is

  1. How are you? (Are you guys sick of this question?)

  2. Have you ever had a flashback?

  3. If so how did you pull yourself out?

Hello

2. Yes, lots of flashbacks. Body memories too. 😞

3. Let it run its course. Sometimes use 5 senses grounding technique. Or talk to someone.

1. I dont know. I am sad maybe I guess? I dont know how to express it.

I'm doing alright thanks, I believe that I might have flashbacks even though I have been told by others that they are not and that they are just "bad memories". I really don't know could be flashbacks or bad memeories Idk the way that I pull myself out of them is to change the topic/subject (flashback/bad memory) or I tell myself enough thinking about said thing. Sometimes I talk to my boyfriend I call it ranting whatever and I tell him that I am just trying to get some stuff off my mind.

Trauma reminders are the worst. I moved from Missouri to Colorado and got away from my trauma reminders and I came back to Missouri for the holidays and ater two days of being here my brain went into trauma mode and I dissociated really bad and ended up in the psychiatric hospital. It seems when my brain has too intense of a reminder I start to get really paranoid and irrational and it takes an intense dose of medication to bring me back to reality.

I woke up early this morning because of nightmares and that really sucks, but I'm managing and going back to Colorado tomorrow.
