Just a hi x
@Avaray heyy Avaray hope your well
@CaringBrit
Better then the past week Brit x
Been bad at the moment... Lying in bed 9:21 and eating a big packet of nik nacks and a twinkie for breakfast. Sort of 18% odisgusted with myself about that but at the same time the stress etc of life has had me feel almost at crack point, so I'm destressing in a way (not the best way) but it is what it is
@CaringBrit
I am feeling better because it's Friday! I don't have much going on and have not been all that productive. I had construction inside my home for few days and my doggies have not been well neither. Can't wait until work day is over so I can take a nap!
@CaringBrit just saying hi
@crimsonLime6525 heyy lime how are you today

@crimsonLime6525 aww would you like a hug
@CaringBrit please 😭
@crimsonLime6525 hugs
@CaringBrit thank you
I'm feeling so good lately! I'm trying really very hard to not have little moments of, like, despair, where I just start thinking about terrible things and have a hard time pulling out of it. I'm working hard to crub it quickly. It's been going well so far! Plus, I'm achieving so many of my goals! I knocked out so many things on my to-do list yesterday... Things aren't as scary as I make them out to be. What a theme.
@betterchoices
Well done! 👏
@pioneeringBanana1598
@pioneeringBanana1598 Thank you!
How are you all feeling this week? This week has been more down than up. It started with little things, spilling things, losing thing etc. However today was worst. . .
I went into a local (Alcohol) store today. (No other stores had working ATMs) I was using the ATM today to get out rent money. I had an error with the ATM machine. I asked for helped and the foreign older man yelled and ridiculed me claiming I was trying to scam him. I was told get out of the store without even trying to figure what I needed or what the error was on the machine. I never felt so wronged, and I will never go back. He made me feel very bad and I hadnt had that hard a cry in my life. (It was defiantly a bad public display, but my family taught me right and wrong. I would NEVER scam someone and Im not sure how do I get over it.)
A friend of the family felt he treated me so bad because I am woman. . . which makes it even worst.
I hate to do but I did give him a very bad rating in yelp.
Any goals youve achieved and wish to share? I declare I will wake up tomorrow and I will start a better week than last week.
I've been struggling up until recently. I feel more okay than overwhelmed now.
I managed to write out a chart to help connect chores and things that feel awful and that I'm unmotivated to do with long-term goals and how doing those things helps me slowly build towards goals that do matter to me and are meaningful. It helped me accomplish getting out of the house and getting some errands done today, including sending my long distance partner a Valentine's day package. Pretty happy about getting that done.
@Zeraphim
sorry to hear you were struggling alot til recently glad you feel more okay than you were
great job with the chart and being able to do errands etc yayy what sort of chart did you write
@CaringBrit Thank you. I started with the concept of self-care, since that's the part I struggle with most. That's the basis of my struggles in doing everything else so it was on the bottom as a foundation. Then I wrote "emotional care" and "physical care" and attached a line to self-care.
Then I branched out all the different things that connect to those two concepts. For example, physical hygiene, exercise, good sleep, eating healthy, seeing the doctor - these things attach to physical care.
Then, from each of those data points, I try to expand on all the activities that are required to do each thing - for example, going to bed at a regular time, good temperature in room, relaxing wind-down routine before bed, and a dark room are important for good sleep. It's also important to have a clean body and clean sheets to sleep in, and that connects to doing laundry, which is a sub-category of physical hygiene. So I'd draw a dotted line between where categories intersect.
I tie these activities to how it serves a greater purpose by connecting them to a bigger concept that means a lot and that I really want, like being able to permanently be with my long-distance partner. I try to make the miserable activities of daily life connect to some greater goal since the activity on its own feels like a miserable burden on its own merit. Doing chores is just something to keep my house mates from getting mad at me and to keep a place to live. It feels like a demand on me. So I try to find a way to make those draining activities connect to something meaningful to me so that I can hopefully generate some amount of motivation, enough to get myself to begin doing it.
Whoops, I mean a clean body attaches to showering and clean sheets attaches to laundry. Both attach to physical hygiene.
In the end, the chart ends up looking quite like a tumble weed, haha.
Also, I'm trying to extend the foundation of self-care downward to see if there are self-limiting beliefs which contribute to my struggles with self-care. For this, I hope therapy can be useful in exploring and hopefully finding ways of overcoming.
