Traumatic Experiences Community Daily Check in: Monday December 3rd 2018

Happy Monday Trauma Community!
I hope you all had a great weekend and start to the month.
Let's talk a little bit today about isolation. Social withdrawal and isolation can be common for trauma survivors or others who live with mental health conditions. Sometimes it can be hard to recognize when we are isolating vs. just having strong boundaries and taking time for self-care. Sometimes we all just need to hide alone in our own pillow forts, but how do we know when we're isolating too much?
- Do you feel like you isolate?
- If so, do you find yourself isolating more at certain times of the year?
- How can we challenge our temptations to socially isolate?
Check in, say hello, ask for a hug. I'm glad you're here.
*Also please join me and @SoftWhispers for an Open Chat on Friday at 12:00 pm ET*
@Kate
I definitely isolate a lot. I feel safer away from people sometimes. I am working on it. Part of my absence from 7cups over the last year has been me isolating. I feel a lot of the times if I can't help myself how can I help anyone else. I am working on my tendancy to isolate but it's a constant challenge and sometimes I have to isolate to re-energize from all of the socialization.
