Traumatic Experiences Community Daily Check-in Thursday 6th July 2017
Good morning all!
As one day follows another, thought that today could follow on from yesterday and the idea of intuitive collage which Kite introduced to us.A creative way to be in touch with your inner voice and to listen to it.Our intuition is the knowing without knowing, the bridge between instinct and reason.and can be our guide. Or use this as a stress reliever, an opportunity to play arround with pictures and colors, and see what unfolds. Or however it fits for you.
Children love to play with pictures and color and we probably can remember doing colllage from way back. Its fun and creative! So why not take the time to have a go at this.
be playful create flow with listen inner voice have fun!
Would love to hear how it goes.! Or tell us how your day's going.... this is your space .. a safe place.
Our internet is out and until I get it back I'll be offline.
Hugs Everyone,
Mary
@MKJart Hugs, Mary -- hopefully it will be back soon! We shall miss you!
@MKJart hugs
I did the things (laundry done and folded, cat box changed, lunch made and consumed), so I am done feigning functionality for the day. Just found out that my shrink cancelled his clinic hours on the same day as my appointment next week, so now I have to wait for a nurse to ring me back to reschedule. No idea when I will hear from them, nor when they will be able to reschedule me for -- have been waiting since the end of May for this appointment. 🙃😑😬
Uncertainty breeds toxic overthinking and all or nothing scenarios of the worst case variety, apparently. Blargh. Joining @TreesandWine in blanket forting it for the duration. ⛺⛺⛺⛺
@melliotm
I'm making tremendous progress. It only takes me 1.5 days to recover from .5 day's worth of work!
So I'm with ya on understanding slow and steady wins the race.
@themainjane :) thanks, Jane. Patience and persistence (and self compassion). That seems to be the key to riding it out.
@melliotm hang in there melli.
@inventiveOrange1 Thanks Orange -- we all need to hang in there.
@melliotm
yeah about that self-compassion stuff, how does it go again?
I've been out of sorts today and a bit of an @$$ on 7 cups. :/ Midas touching.
I have to start discerning what constitutes true self-care. And I definitely need to slow my "role" and just leave people alone!
I have this knack for either thinking I'm clever (all me) or delivering an apology that's not really an apology (learned that one).
Am hoping I can finish the day strong. Probably not strong enough to keep my mouth shut but maybe at least tap into the kinder, gentler Jane.
Has been a hard week and it isnt over yet. Learned i wont be getting a post filled at work so continue to be short. Also need to go back on wards again soon. Everything there is trigerring from the clinical stuff to medicines info queries on pregnancy to just colleagues bringing babies in. Thinking of leaving but with my sickness record currently that would be a joke.
Dark thoughts getting darker and sh at work is escalating slightly. But am holding on for family and everyone I know. Am grateful for all the support on this site.
Started a trauma timeline with view to do emdr soon tho with therapist gone for a month it feels a bit scary.
Am trying to be positive for hubbys birthday tomorrow. He is a bit down about it too. Was meant to be alot different and ive messed it up.
Attempted a chocolate orange cheesecake so will see if that makes him smile a little tomorrow. Also booked a night away near Cambridge on weekend so maybe a punt on the river Cam might help us both.
Continually wishing everyone here peace. Thanks for the very thoughtful posts all. X
@inventiveOrange1
as far as work goes I know it must be so very difficult and please don't guilt yourself about it because it IS a very difficult thing you are doing.
A cheesecake now and a night away sound divine. Birthday wishes to him and best wishes for you both enjoying some time away.
@themainjane hugs. Thanks. I know you have had a difficult week too. I hope you can be kind to gentle Jane. Enjoy your weekend away. x
