Hey lovelies! Continuing on from last week, we are going to be talking about how to deal with trauma reminders! So we talked about trauma reminders last week and using grounding! Now we are gonna talk about sensory/ physical focus. This includes eating a candy or fruit slowly and tasting all its flavor, watching the trees sway in the breeze.

My questions for you are:

  1. Did you try those skills from last week? If so how did it go?

  2. Do you think physical sensations would help?

  3. Which do you think would help more, physical focus or grounding? Why?

Remember this is your safe place!

Hi.

I like that the physical focus method is less structured than the 5-4-3-2-1 exercise. It is easier to try to do just 1 thing.

Had a good morning but suddenly don't feel good.

@krispykitty12

I'm not very good at grounding. I will try the physical focus next time. I think I'll be better at it.

I'm not sure how I feel right now. I think I need to talk to someone but I'm not sure who.

Im having a really hard time staying in the present tonight. Its not usually like this. Im scared of whats happening to my brain. I hope Im going to be OK. Sometimes I just want to be normal, like other people around me.
