other social services workers?
hi i've been working in social services for the last seven years, mostly with folks experiencing homelessness. i would love to connect with other service providers, especially folks with depression/mental health stuff going on, to talk about vicarious trauma from the workplace.
Especially the trauma of working with folks staying outside, navigating drug use, significant mental health challenges, and who are constantly being let down by our failing systems. i'm losing hope and really want to talk to anyone who can understand.
@patientLemon7482 Hello! I hope you are doing well! I want you to know how amazing the work you do is and the impact that you have on so many people. I work with children with autism, so not exactly the same but similar work! I know how fast burnout can come and it's so important to practice self-care! What do you like to do to relax and recharge? :)
Our mental state is very important. I think that if there are problems, the help of specialists is needed. You can't be alone with your problem.
