Dad only hates me
My dad has been hurting me for a very long time, as long as I can remember. But he's never hurt my sister before, and even though my sister acts like she cares sometimes I feel like a burden to her. I don't get why my family is so messed up. It's just another way I'm not normal. I wish my dad wouldn't hate me and hurt me. I wish my sister would tell me the truth. Because I feel really lonely and lost like this. I'm not sure I'll be able to do much when I'm older. I'll still be scared of getting hurt I think. I just can't even see a future. And I don't blame my dad, I blame me for not being a good normal daughter for him like my sister is.
@mutebutnotblind, I can relate. My dad physically abused my two sisters, brother and myself, but sexually molested me, not sure about them. He also seemed to verbally abused me , at least more than he did them. He would call me a p+$$ y and tell me I would eff up a wet dream. I think thats why Im a perfectionist and am so hard on myself about getting things done. Its also what led to my major depression and ptsd. It also led me to be less sociable than I used to be. Just know its none of your fault and be easy on yourself.
I'm very sorry that you are both feeling hurt by your family. I know we all think of family as people we can lean on when times are hard. The truth of the matter is: Sometimes, that doesn't exist. It's not because of anything you've done wrong or something that is wrong with you.
Parents are just older humans :). They still make mistakes and have a hard time communicating well with others the things that they try to convey with other actions. Sometimes these types of relationships are fixable. Sometimes, they're not. Both options are open to you if you want to try and move forward with these feelings.
I would be more than happy to listen if you're in need of a friend.
I'm so sorry you've experienced this. I am also always up to talk.
I also have some issues with abuse from parents, and am targeted much more than my brother. It is very hard to actually do, but you really need to remember it is not your fault. Even if you just say it outloud over and over, whether or not you believe it, it will help you to believe it going forward.
It would be really useful to get some sort of help from maybe a guidance counselor at school or something. Do you have anyone you talk to about all this? It's a huge burden. (You're already doing an awesome thing by being resourceful and coming on here so awesome job!)
Please don't blame yourself! It is *never* your fault when someone else hurts you. A lot of us (almost everyone!) blame ourselves when we're being abused -- whether that's physically, verbally or emotionally. But you have to remember that everyone makes mistakes and a normal loving parent doesn't abuse their children for not being good enough!
I've gone through similar experiences as you, so I just want to say this: you're not alone, even though it feels like that and you feel truly "not normal". It's not something people talk about, but many out there have had to deal with abusive parents. It's not your fault. Keep holding on. You will survive.
I am 23. My father divorced my mother a week after my 5th birthday. Was out of my life for 4 years, 4 years my mom wotked as a housekeeper making 300 every two weeks. He came back when i was 6 just to get my mother pregnant, my little sister brought light hope and food to the house. My father is 53 has 4 with my mother 1 in another country and 2 babies in florida. For the past 2 years i have not spoken to him because he sent me back to my state all because of his new girlfriend. For two years i only text me to argue but before two years we stopped talking for a year at age 18. Have you ever hated someone so bad? This man has caused me so much hurt i feel hate and that is all. I was molested at 5 he did NOTHING arent fathers suppose to defend their children? He tried convincing my mother to abort my baby sister. He had us struggling while building houses for his girlfriends. Week ago he kicked my sister out the middle child all because his girlfriend wanted to move her mother i to that apt. He no longer has 4 out of 7 children and guess who those 4 are? This man has caused me depression, anxiety, stress, trauma.
