Figuring it out

I’ve experienced sexual assault as a child by a family member and a stranger. I don’t get random flashbacks and nightmares. I also don’t feel the need to avoid similar situations. But the trauma memories come back every now and then and just gets me into depression. Is it possible for me to have PTSD? I don’t feel like I’m qualified.

@BerryAnnie514

I'm sorry that this all happened to you.

Please do not feel pressured or downplay your traumatic experience even if your symptoms do not follow a "classical" definition or follow someone else's experience. Everyone is different, and a medical or mental health professional can help with PTSD and/or CPTSD diagnoses.

You went through something awful and it's having an effect on you. I hope that dealing with the memories gets better for you.

You are more than welcome to be here for support!
