My Friend .. Murdered .. At Only 30 years old
We graduate high school and keep in touch with some people, our best friends, and maybe a boyfriend or girlfriend and go off to college. One of my friends went off to a different college, but we still kept in touch on and off .. then they created MySpace .. now Facebook. She got married a few years ago and has a 10 year old son. On Monday, her husband beat her to death .. She was only 30 years old. I really don't know what to say. She was such a great person and we had so much fun in high school. She was so funny and always happy. How could somebody be so angry to beat their spouse to death?? What is this world coming to? I cannot believe this .. I am still in shock! Then what really is love? A relationship? This man beat my friend to death .. domestic violence is not a joke.

Firstly I an so sorry for your loss. Losing anyone is always hard but when it is unexpected and happens in such a violent way out shock is heightened and greif can take a long time. Please be kind to you while you process this.
"Domestic violence is no joke" sadly that statement is so so true. It happens behind clised doors hidden from the world to people who deserve so so much better There is no reason, no way of understanding why or how someone can hurt someone in that way.

@Rycochet Thank you .. I haven't seen in about 3 years, but we talk on Facebook .. we have our own separate lives now since we got older, but I still care very much about her. Then I hear about this .. she was such a good person. Her husband seemed nice, but then again, he could have been a controlling husband. I have been in that type of relationship before. Some men get upset when a woman makes more money than them (she had a BA in communications so she had a really good job for this web design company). I think he is just a construction worker. But .. to do that is just irate and unforgiving and .. I hope that any woman who is in this same situation reads this and goes for help before they end up like my friend.

Domestic violence happens for so many varied reasons against both men and women. It's all too common sadly but whatever the reason it is never okay!
Like you say anyone in that situation reading will hopefully reach out and seek support. No one - no matter what you did or didn't do deserves to be mistreated ever - no one should put up with it.
Using your friends memory to create awareness for others is a beautiful tribute <3
