What to do with My Emotionally Draining Parents

Hello, I'm a 16 year old girl and my parents have been emotionally and verbally abusing me.

My parents— They're nice people and I love them, but talking to them tires me out. We'd always end up fighting everytime we talk, especially with my mother. They always say something negative to me and verbally attack me, but they never realized they did that. The strange thing is the feelings of being lonely and helpless only come whenever I'm around my parents, to the point that talking to them always makes me sad and stuffy. I began to notice that something's wrong with me because I always cried everyday, thinking that I'm just a burden to my family and feeling so lonely even when I have my friends around. Because of that, I went to see a psychiatrist last year and got diagnosed with depression. My mother cried and apologized to me after hearing my psychiatrist and I thought that I didn't have to worry about it anymore and live happily but not long after that, they began to be their old selves again— always blaming me, being negative, and attacking me verbally— I tried to talk to them and asked them but they got angry instead, saying that I should stop being a weak crybaby and to stop blaming them for my depression.

I don't know what to do anymore to make myself feel better. It's been nearly two years and I'm starting to feel tired of being like this.

Thank you for listening.

@1310 Im so sorry to hear about whats happening with you rparents, it sounds like they are guilty for what has happened to you as a result of their behaviour so they are deflecting the blame on to you so they dont need to dealw ith it. I would suggest maybe asking them to go to a group meeting with the therapist and you together, so that you can talk to them openly and they can maybe learn some ways to behave so that they arent being negative to you. Also it is important to not beat them with the depression you have, your mum has said sorry so that is a good thing, maybe talking a bit more openly to them may be helpful?
