i don
*TW* sexual abuse I guess
let me start off by saying: how many of you have seen the movie love actually? So When I was 9 or so my family decided to watch that movie. And I was molested by my uncle for all of my life until that point. Anyways Im sure you all know that theres a sex scene in it. But anyways I was watching it with my family and i started to get uncomfortable. My 9y/o brain couldnt really process what the heck was happening. I broke down in tears because of it and ran off to my room, and my parents just sat there laughing while I was sobbing. Anyways they didnt even care enough to come comfort me, it was my brothers girlfriend who came. The only reason Im really posting this is because Id like to tell my counselor as its been really affecting me lately. What hurts the most is that they never apologized, even 4 years later, and how they could just sit there laughing whil their only daughter ran away crying. And sometimes they still joke about it, even though I am very obviously extremely uncomfortable when they bring it up. But thanks to whoever took the time to read my story.

First of all, thank you for sharing your story here--you've endured so much and it takes a lot of strength and courage. I completely understand how hurtful it would be for your family to laugh and not come check on you, to never apologize, and to continue to trivialize the situation with jokes to this day. Your reaction was valid and understandable--it's so normal that your mind and body reacted the way they did to be triggered.
I hope that telling your counselor, and being able to start unpacking and working through these experiences with them can help to bring some peace and healing to you after so many year of suffering.
I'm proud of you, I admire you, and feel free to update us on how it goes!
@Gaycutter101 Do they know you were sexually harassed by your uncle?
