I hope this is the right place to post. I know DID isn't considered a personality disorder anymore.

It's something I have struggled with for years (maybe my whole life... My youngest part is a three year old,) but I was only recently diagnosed after several misdiagnosises.

I just kind of want to hear about others' experiences with it and maybe even chat.

@BraeliJain Hey there! Welcome :) It's common with DID to get misdiagnosed because some of the symptoms share similarities with other mental health diagnosis. It can sometimes take years before the right diagnosis is reached. It's frustrating!

We have a chat here for those with DID in the trauma room on Wednesdays at 1pm East Coast time. We focus on safety and stabilization but we also discuss things we might be experiencing. You're welcome to join us! It can be really nice to be with others that can understand what were dealing with :)

Hey I don't have DID but I have a close friend who has it. It helps to write a system diary for everybody to talk about their day and fill in some gaps. It's probably also a good idea to start writing rules in it so that Everyone is clear on your boundaries.
