Does trauma go away
Hii yall let me just say the most traumatic thing happened to me last year around November it was supposed to be s normal school Dat but my angry dad was extremely mad that and he took it all out on me beat me half to death I had scares all over my hands legs still have them my brother tried to call my mom she was out of the city that day my mom called my dad telling him what he was doing for some reason and then he stormed to my brother and took his anger out on him not physically like he did with me but u get the point
It took me 3 months to get comfortable with people being around Me I don't know if what I have is panic attacks but most of the time out of nowhere my heart will start to beat like crazy and I'm shaking and crying and the memories just come back to me my mom tells Mr to get over it it's already been 6 months but I still get these reactions I don't want to be like this I want to be normal like everybody else why am I like this every month my reactions get worse and it's so hard to keep my cool
@Claudiakam10p Dear, I am deeply sorry to hear what happened to you. I believe it is NOT you or your feelings to blame, but your father, who lost control over his emotions (I believe it wasn't for the first time?) and was aggressive. I believe beating somebody like that (especially when this person is your daughter) is criminal. And I would be also angry with your mother, not protecting enough you and your brother from this.
Are you aged over 18? Do you have anybody to talk about this incident? A teacher or a psychologist at school? Some relatives other than your parents? I believe you are not the one to blame. You need help.
I have nobody at the moment I have 4 siblings and my father being in jail can really take a toll on my family or that's what my mother told me when I wanted to report him to cps and I'm not over 18 I'm 15 at the moment I'm scared the situation can escalate and can ruin my family
@Claudiakam10p In a country where I am living this would not necessarily mean your father going to jail, but a social worker and possibly a psychologist taking care of your entire family.
If your dad had killed you (or someone else), he would be in jail anyhow - and you would be no longer here, among us. That's great you're still alive.
I really empathize with you... Judging from your description, your father may be addicted to anger attacks and violence, just the way some people are addicted to alcohol or drugs. But his violence will never solve any problems (still producing more of them instead). And your mother seems to be co-dependent, I mean a person who is hiding and justifying someone else's terrible behaviour (is she a victim of his bearing or other violence, too?).
What can we do for you to get better? Do you need to ask questions, or to hear something from us, or 'just some talking' is OK?
A friend of mine used to be a kind of school psychologist, she helped people in situations like yours. It's a pity you don't have somebody like this in your place.
