I have a question

Hi, I have some problems, especially in the evening before going to sleep or in the dark when I close my eyes I see images in my head like photos that represent monsters. I was told that it could come from a trauma. Could some people confirm this or on the contrary tell me no please?

Hey there, thank you so much for opening up about this — that takes courage. What you’re describing sounds really unsettling, especially when it happens right before sleep. Many people find the night time difficult because our minds are more active when everything else is quiet, so I can imagine this feels very intense and maybe even frightening for you.

It’s understandable that you’d want to know where these images come from. Sometimes our brains replay or create vivid scenes when we’re under stress or have experienced something that left a strong impression. But it’s also okay not to know exactly why — what matters most is how it makes you feel and how you can find some calm again.

You’re definitely not alone in experiencing something like this. I’m not a professional, but I do know that many people find it helpful to talk with a counselor or therapist if these images keep coming up or start to feel overwhelming. They can help you understand what’s going on and find gentle ways to cope with it.

For now, you’re very welcome to share a bit more if you’d like — maybe about how long this has been happening or if there’s something that helps you relax when it starts. Sometimes even writing it out, like you did here, can be the first step toward feeling a bit lighter.

I just want you to know that it’s brave to reach out, and it’s okay to take your time.
