I’m scared and feel alone

America has become dangerous for Jews like me.y community is facing attacks from the left and right. No one wants to be our ally. On a per capita basis my community is facing the highest amount of hate crime of any group in America. In terms of total incidents, we’re second behind African Americans. We are only 2% of the population. We have had to “harden” our synagogues and schools because they are being attacked. Hate grows and grows and yet our pleas for help are ignored. Their ignored because the US only knows the christological caricature of our religion. We are ignored because we have been cursed as deicides. We are cursed because people believe stereotypes rather than reality. We are cursed because everyone assumes we’re so rich and powerful that we could never truly be victims. This one’s the worst, it guarantees we will be met with cynicism or ignored.

they attacked my childhood synagogue and took many lives. We are in more danger today than when that happened five years ago.

History is rhyming so hard it’s about to be signed by a record label. They’ve come for the queer, and black, Hispanics, and us. But for us people say nothing. They will say nothing until it’s too late because that’s what they’ve done for two of years. That’s what they did last time.

I’ve never felt afraid of being a Jew in America before. Now I feel guilty passing it onto my children. theres just too many burdens, and they never go away.
