I was molested 😞

When I was young I was molested by a couple of family members and friends. I told no one about it till today! I'm 35 years old now, and every relationship I've been in, I've only dated for s*x because that's all I knew. Thats how badly the childhood trauma affected me! How do I grow out of that and realise I'm more than the s*x in a relationship?

@BeeSting345

🥺

I'm sorry this happened to you.

And by people who you should have been able to trust.

You didn't deserve any of it.

It's not your fault that you equated sex with your worth in a relationship.

I wouldn't rush into things when dating.

True intimacy comes from shared moments, trust, and bring open with someone.

Real intimacy feels better when it's not something that's expected but shared 💖

@BeeSting345 I’m really glad you chose to share this. What you went through was not your fault, and the fact that you’re opening up now shows a lot of strength. Childhood trauma can deeply shape how we see ourselves and our relationships, so it makes sense that you learned to connect through sex because that’s what was modeled for you. But that doesn’t mean you’re limited to that forever.

Healing starts with recognizing that you deserve connection, respect, and love that aren’t based on your body. Talking with a trauma-informed therapist can help you untangle those patterns, but even on your own, small steps like setting boundaries, slowing down in relationships, and reminding yourself that your worth isn’t tied to sex can make a real difference. You’re not broken, you’re learning something no one ever taught you, and that takes courage.
