Long term abuse and survival
I experienced prolonged sexual abuse during childhood, along with neglect, family instability, and financial hardship. I also witnessed things at home that I wasn't emotionally prepared to deal with, and I felt that my feelings and need for safety weren't taken seriously.
I learned to cope by becoming emotionally numb, highly self-reliant, and focused on survival and responsibility. As an adult, I function well externally but often feel empty, disconnected, angry, and unable to find much meaning or excitement in life.
A very important relationship later became my main source of emotional connection, and losing it intensified these feelings significantly.
I want help understanding the long-term effects of what happened to me and learning how to live with it rather than continuing to operate in survival mode.

This is so unfortunate! i tip my hat to you! I emphasize with you substantially.. You've lived in such a dark environment. Then you find a companion and then lose them which has now triggered a survival response. Am I correct? Do you have a legitimate support system in place because if you don't this is a key problem.. We are here to lift you up and find peace of mind.
Thank you for sharing! 🌲
The abuse wasn't an issue for me a long time, i never had a space to express myself, my mother was also toxic, I have been working since I was 14 years, then I realised she only cared about money
My ex was the only safe place I had in my life, I never never knew what love is, eventually she cheated on me, that just triggered every trauma I ever had, I'm losing my grip over my life
So sorry for your suffering 😞!! You are not alone. The symptoms and issues you are going through are all too familiar to me.
I am also a survivor of repeated childhood sexual abuse. It has caused hyper vigilance, hyper sexuality and just learning how to survive emotionally.
Anyone who has experienced this, it is heartbreaking 😢.
Therapy is crucial in unpacking the trauma. Where you didn't have a chance to be heard, now is the time to give that younger you (inner child), the chance to feel compassion.
I wish, hope, and pray for healing for you 🙏!!
