Not sure who to talk to
I have been thinking about past trauma that happened when I was much younger. I still struggle to believe it, but I trust myself. I worry other people, especially family, won't believe me. I wish there was someone I could tell. It weighs on me to never say anything and keep everything inside. I'm not sure what to do or how to feel less hurt and alone.
@underapinetree Hello pinetree, and thank you for posting. It's very disheartening to hear not only that you've been through trauma but that there isn't anyone that you feel able to broach it with. Very often, trauma impacts our sense of trust, so your wariness may result from that time. In the absence of having a confidante, I'm not sure what strategies you've explored in terms of processing what happened to you, but wanted to highlight the self help guide, which looks at the impact of difficult experiences and takes you through a trauma narrative exercise. This is designed to help with verbal reorganisation and making sense of what occurred. I also wanted to mention that in addition to the forum, there are dedicated listeners and a trauma support chat room here, for real-time support. Wishing you the best in navigating this, pinetree.
